Sennheiser HD 598 Special Edition Over-Ear Headphones - Black (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

Nachdem durch jahrelangen Gebrauch mein HD570 schon reichlich abgenützt ist, sollte ein gleich- bis höherwertiger Ersatz angeschafft werden. Positive Überraschung, und das ist ja heutztage nicht mehr so selbstverständlich: der HD 598SE ist in jeder Hinsicht besser, noch bequemer (auch für Brillenträger, man vergisst recht schnell, daß man überhaupt einen Kopfhörer trägt), und noch klarer und akzentuierter im Klangbild. Man kann auch nach ausgiebigem Probehöhren (direkt an einem hochwertigen CD-Player) vieler verschiedener Musikrichtungen keinen der von anderen Rezensenten kritisierten Punkte wie Anschlag der Lautsprecher oder zu wenig Bass nachvollziehen. Natürlich kann man bei lauter Musik auch im Raum mithören was gespielt wird und vice versa, aber wer das das nicht will, ist mit einem offenen System ohnedies schlecht beraten. Wirklich positiv zu bewerten ist der Stoffbezug als Staubschutz über dem Lautsprecher, statt der üblichen Schaumstoffmembranen, welche sich nach wenigen Jahren aufzulösen beginnen. Weiters sehr praktisch, (in der SE Version) zwei mitgelieferte Kabel, ein 1m Kabel mit kleiner Klinke für PC/Laptop und ein 3m Kabel mit großer Klinke für Verstärker/CD-Player.

Anche qui Sennheiser fa sentire il suo peso. Laudio è spettcolare forse lievemente carente di profondità nei toni bassi, ma veramente molto poco carente. La cosa che mi ha maggiormente colpito è lisolamento dia rumori esterni: indossando le cuffie i rumori ambientali si sentono quasi del tutto distintamente, accendendo la musica e regolando su un volume medio basso improvvisamente spariscono del tutto e si rimane avvolti dal suono riprodotto in aniera sublime. Materiali di costruzione sia della cuffia che del cavo assolutamente degni di nota. Assolutamente consigliato lacquisto.

Awesome headphones. The long cable started giving me some audio feedback after a year of use.

Holy crap, I went from a set of steel series Siberia Elites to these. First of all they are really light on the head and then the ear muffs are just so soft. That alone would be awesome but the sound quality and sound stage, holy s*** man. The sound is just hundreds of times better than the gaming headsets. Never going back to the over priced crap headsets, this is what my ears need.

These things sound great! Comfortable to wear (rather big so I would feel like a bit of a geek wearing them in public). Not super load but load enough for me using a i-pad or i-phone. You would have to amp them up if you like really load music (and eventually wearing hearing aids). Crisp, clean sound especially listening to acoustic music; classical, jazz, Dylan etc... You will defiantly hear things wearing these that you cant hear wearing buds or listening to an external speaker.

Ive had these for several months now, and I prefer them to both my closed-back headphones and my really nice speakers. The headphones are extremely comfortable and dont get hot. If these broke, I wouldnt hesitate to throw down for another pair. They come with two cables, one short one with a 3.5mm jack on it which is a nice length to use with a phone in your pocket, and a long one with a 6.35mm (1/4) jack on the end. The long cable is a little too long for me; I keep running over it with my computer chair.

I bought these on Amazon during a Black Friday deal for $99 (maybe less?). These headphones are amazing. Super clean sound. I used to wear my Bose headphones to work but my ears would get fatigued. Great thing about these headphones is that I can listen to them for hours and my ears dont get tired. Highly recommend.

Perfect mids, highs, and decent amount of bass! Everything is super clear and detailed, and the highs dont shred my ears apart like the Grado SR80e headphones. Awesome sound stage! I can hear everything around me, and they are perfect for gaming. The bass is clear and precise but isnt over done like beats headphones or something. Overall very happy.
