> 24 hourI tested at least 20 headsets ($150 to $350 range), in the same location, at the same time, using my iphone, on the same song ( with very dynamic highs and lows, volume shifts, etc ) and these headphones blew every one of them away. The comparison to the others wasn’t even close. The bass response was so impressive, the mids very clean (not muffled) and the highs are so crisps and clean its hard to believe. You have to compare headphones side by side to really know how good a pair is. You can’t check one out then drive to another location and compare. So why a 4 star? I thought these headphones were made in Ireland. All the reviews, videos and pictures I saw show made in Ireland. Well, not any more. Sennheiser opened a new factory in Romania. Apparently this is where all the consumer electronics gear is now made. Sorry Romania nothing against you, but I feel, perhaps unjustified, more confidence in products from Ireland. Thats one reason why I bought. So a big let down with made in Romania for me. At least it didn’t say made in China. I would think the new factory in Romania is state of the art as it just opened so maybe Im wrong on this. But still disappointed.

> 24 hourcurrently I own HD25 2 sets, HD668b, Ath pro7x, DT1350, Koss PP, Ksc75, Oneodio studio, Status audio, JVC harx700, srh440, HD558, Koss Dj200 pro, JVC HA-S500, JVC HA-S400, HTF600, AKG240, but HD25 beats them all in sound quality department. Compare to M40x and m50 the bass is very tight, imaging is excellent for the cost of sound stage but treble and clarity is just excellent with good PRAT factor. It is not a very V shaped headphones, and a little bit mid bass hump makes is very fun to listen too. on the ear design makes the seal very tight to achieve good sound. construction is great. I bought 2 pairs last year and both look brand new till now. Its very hard to find another on-ear headphones to upgrade from this headphones, HD25 is just too perfect, but Oneodio studio over the ear offers almost same sound with the expense of maybe 15% sound clarity and it is just below $25. both HD25 and Oneodio pair very well with my Sansa Fuze plus and clip jam very well. They dont need extra power to drive them. for people with lower budget the Oneodio studio less than $25 is a better option.

> 24 hourSennheiser headphones have always performed! Near studio sound across models, but the HD 25s are superb! Not overdone bass like Beats, highs dont fall apart like Sony. The fit is snug on my big head. But, it does a great job filtering out room noise. Noise reduction is passive (non-electronic) which is a good thing! Active electronic noise filtering (Bose, Sony) affects sound quality. These headphones prove it once again. If you are looking for serious sound, pick up a pair of these!

> 24 hourThese headphones are extremely good and durable, theyve been my favorite companion to almost everywhere I go for 2 years. Soundwise, they are great for the value, mostly flat and detailed sound just a liiitle bit V shaped response. Totally recommend these as entry hifi and very durable headphones.

> 24 hourI had a pair of $300 Pioneer DJ headphones I loved, but needed replaced. Decided to save 50% and give Sennheiser a try. Would I buy again? Hmm, honestly I wish I had spent the extra $150 and bought another pair of Pioneers, but I think for most people these will be adequate, I just dont think they are perfectly suited to bass-heavy EDM.

> 24 hourThese headphones sound very good and can get LOUD. I took a chance on these as Ive seen many DJs and producers use them. As a DJ myself, Ive used many different headphones from all different price points. Although I love how these sound, the build quality is awful. All cheap plastic construction and faux leather on the earcups and headband that rips/wears very easy. Ill stick with my Audio Technica ATH-M60x headphones. MUCH better build quality and just slightly flatter sound. The HD 25s have slightly boosted low frequencies. Overall these are overrated. Ive been told the older models were better quality.

> 24 hourIve been using this model headphone for about 20 years professionally as a medical transcriptionist. Back in the day the cord was rubberized, non tangle and non kinking.. The phones themselves sounded great. I used them about 10 hours a day between work and recreationally. Fast forward to about 5 years ago when I bought a new pair after my original beloved set gave up the ghost and just fell apart. The cord was now a much cheaper plasticized cord that never straightened out and stayed permanently bent and kinked. One of the headphone wires developed a short or some sort of contact issue that made it stop working until the cord was unplugged from the speaker and then plugged back in. This happened constantly. Bear in mind that both cords going to both headphones are detachable and can be unplugged from the headset. So I bought yet another pair that had the same issue of sound shorting out in one headphone until the cord was unplugged and then replugged. This happened multiple times daily. Same cheapo plasticized cord. Then I Googled and discovered that the cord connection was the source of a problem for many people, some of whom offered self-fixes on YouTube or other websites. A new cord is outrageously expensive, in the 40-50 dollar range. So in my experience these are not what they used to be, not even close. Be aware of the cord shorting issue before you buy and think about whether you want to risk having the same issue that has plagued many owners of these headphones.

> 24 hourI bought these for DJing, to replace a heavily used, 15+-year-old pair of Sony MDR-7506 that finally broke down. I went with these due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews: best DJ headphones ever; been using them for 20 years; dont even bother with anything else; blah, blah, blah. Well...I dont get the hype. These are smallish and light headphones with decent sound. And thats it. As compared to the 7506, I feel that theyre a significant downgrade: A) They feel really plasticy and flimsy. Both are made of plastic of course, but these just leave a much cheaper and less solid overall impression. B) Theyre much, much less comfortable in every way. The headband is smaller and less adjustable, the ear cups are tiny and less padded. And I dont understand the point of the rotating left cup at all. When I am DJing using only one ear cup it moves a bit, and then when I drop the headphones back around my neck they stick out at a weird angle. So Im forced to reach up and push them back into normal position. How does this help? C) Sound quality is not quite as good. Its probably a bit more neutral, which might be good if youre doing music production, but for DJ work I really want bass and richness. MDR-7506 delivers quite well here and these things sound slightly tinny in comparison. D) The cord on the 7506 is much nicer feeling. Soft rubberized spiral there, vs straight and not-quite-flexible-enough plastic on these. E) The 7506 cost 33% less. F) The 7506 include a carrying case. (Very minor, but still.) So all in all, I cant recommend these. Obviously they have their fans; loads of them. As always, YMMV. Im not going to send my pair back at this point. Theyre good enough, and given the build quality I suspect Im not going to get even close to 15 years out of these before some bit breaks -- probably that ridiculous rotating ear cup -- and I buy something else instead. Who knows, maybe at some point Ill stumble upon that hidden element that makes these the best of all time. I can only hope.
