06-04-2025Well, I was hoping for the yellow anniversary edition as depicted in photo but that wouldn’t make it sound any better. Excellent deal for $100. A bit heavy on the bass for me personally but I use my device’s equalizer and chose the “reduce bass” setting. Open back so pick a quiet environment to listen in. Recommended.

> 3 dayMy oh my, do these live up to the expectations I had. I bought these mainly as a pair of DJing headphones. I needed something with just a tad more bass, and a good amount of sound isolation. Lightweight, comfortable, and low profile. This definitely is the perfect pair, Im glad I chose them. The sound quality is wonderful, Ive come to expect nothing but the best from Seinheiser. The bass does seem just a bit more present than standard flat studio headphones, but I like that as I already have some very flat headphones and monitors and Id like something to be able to tone my basses properly when producing. They seem ridiculously light for how powerful and functional they are. Though the grasp is firm, I wouldnt worry its not uncomfortable at all, just snug. Ill update my review when I actually get to take em out for a gig soon!

> 3 dayTheres a good reason these have been a standard for DJs over the last 25+ years. Comfortable, light weight and sound great.

> 3 dayI bought these for DJing, to replace a heavily used, 15+-year-old pair of Sony MDR-7506 that finally broke down. I went with these due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews: best DJ headphones ever; been using them for 20 years; dont even bother with anything else; blah, blah, blah. Well...I dont get the hype. These are smallish and light headphones with decent sound. And thats it. As compared to the 7506, I feel that theyre a significant downgrade: A) They feel really plasticy and flimsy. Both are made of plastic of course, but these just leave a much cheaper and less solid overall impression. B) Theyre much, much less comfortable in every way. The headband is smaller and less adjustable, the ear cups are tiny and less padded. And I dont understand the point of the rotating left cup at all. When I am DJing using only one ear cup it moves a bit, and then when I drop the headphones back around my neck they stick out at a weird angle. So Im forced to reach up and push them back into normal position. How does this help? C) Sound quality is not quite as good. Its probably a bit more neutral, which might be good if youre doing music production, but for DJ work I really want bass and richness. MDR-7506 delivers quite well here and these things sound slightly tinny in comparison. D) The cord on the 7506 is much nicer feeling. Soft rubberized spiral there, vs straight and not-quite-flexible-enough plastic on these. E) The 7506 cost 33% less. F) The 7506 include a carrying case. (Very minor, but still.) So all in all, I cant recommend these. Obviously they have their fans; loads of them. As always, YMMV. Im not going to send my pair back at this point. Theyre good enough, and given the build quality I suspect Im not going to get even close to 15 years out of these before some bit breaks -- probably that ridiculous rotating ear cup -- and I buy something else instead. Who knows, maybe at some point Ill stumble upon that hidden element that makes these the best of all time. I can only hope.

> 3 dayAbsolutely incredible. Words can’t even describe. Produce for over 5 years and have always been looking for some quality headphones that are accurate “sonically”. I can’t always use my KRK monitors and sometimes those don’t even provide a proper bass reference. These are amazing. If you’re like me, you like to study music and figure out all the tricks in a song. These let you truly listen to every layer. Made me go back and listen to all my favorite artist. It’s a whole different experience.. if you’re worried about the price, it’s a great investment just like any gear!!! 100/10

11-04-2025Cups fit tight - even on my narrow female head (and I have small ears, too). Its good for the noise isolation. Its meant to be that way. Only the left ear cup swivels. I thought both would, so that was a small letdown since I didnt see mentioned anywhere. I didnt even get a bag or anything to hold the headphones. I knocked off a star because even all of my $100 casual/budget/gaming headphones that I bought over the years ALL came with a nylon bag at least. I guess they had to skimp out somewhere, he? Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT buy these for casual listening to keep on your head straight for several hours. They are not meant for that purpose. Your ears will choke, get sweaty and get fatigued.

Greater than one weekThey started shorting out before I could even use them for a recording class (which recommended them). Since I needed them in a hurry, returning wasnt an option. It was a struggle as they would cut in and out unless I held them just right. [EDIT: I eventually just pulled out the connectors and put them back in when this happened every now and then. In 2022 I had to replace the cord because the wire broke after years of bending. The earphones have worked fine over the years since I bought them and I would buy them again (unless I find something better)

Greater than one weekGreat headphones but the wires are too thin and short out this is the second pair and time it’s done it in less than a year. As much as these are and for their intended user this design is an epic fail. Don’t waste your money. :( so sad.
