Sennheiser Professional HD 280 PRO Over-Ear Monitoring Headphones

A buddy of mine is an audiophile who has his own music studio. When I asked him what my next pair of headphones should be, he stood behind these claiming theyre his favorite. The coiled headphone cable allows me some movement around my work area while preventing the cord from getting crushed by my roller chair. I like that there is not an inline volume control. Those tend to be very jumpy and of low quality. Plus, it makes for just one more unnecessary volume control.

One ear cut out completely after a month of use

Any physical movement you do makes a sound that actually drowns out the audio!!!!

I needed a set of headphones because my stock ipod ones simply wouldnt do. Not to mention my roommate talks on the phone a lot and I cant work to his voice, so I needed a good set of headphones that could block external noise, and I didnt want active noise cancellation because the white noise bugs me.

Simply put this are awesome headphones. They provide significant noise reduction, and do not cause the discomfort that noise canceling headphones cause some people. I have owned this for several years and always turn to them when I want to envelope myself in wonderful sound. These reproduce sounds that I do not hear with anything else. The quality of Sennheiser surpasses any other headphone I have used. Now their product is my go to headphone.

Only problem is that I wish the cable were replaceable or longer. It has that kind of wound up spiral style and it always gets in the way when Im recording everything except vocals.

Good for at home use, otherwise the coiled (long and heavy) wire and large clunky look will make you look like a dork in public.

Heavy, and didnt really block the noise anymore than other headphones. I returned them. Not terrible, but just didnt like the feel or the sound blocking.

Best headphones Ive ever owned. Highly recommended.
