> 3 dayFor the price you cant beat Sennheiser HD 280 pro headphones. When I started shopping for headphones to use with my iPods, I established certain shopping criteria - a respected brand name, excellent sound reproduction, and comfort - all for around $100.00. I read reviews about the 280 pro and at first was a bit hesitant because these really are professional studio type headphones. I was worried that at 64 OHMS my iPods wouldnt put out enough power to drive them. However, I found a review on-line that said this would not be a problem, so I took a chance. I am glad I did. Music is loud and clear on my iPod Classic, Nano, Shuffles and iPad. The sound reproduction is excellent with great treble, bass and distribution of highs and lows. I havent had a set of headphones this good in years. They are also well constructed so you dont have to worry about pampering them. While I probably wont use the 280 for travel, they are my main headphones at home. One bit of advice, which I also found on-line, if you sync your iPods with iTunes consider increasing the volume of your songs through iTunes by right clicking and selecting Get info. Navigate to the Volume Adjustment section. You can set the volume level on individual songs, multiple songs or for your entire library. Just be careful not to set the volume too high so you wont damage your hearing.

> 3 dayCheck the 2 pictures of the headband. On the side headband that hasnt broken yet, you can see that theres a notch molded into the underside of the frame, and the top of the frame has what they intended as a lump of thicker, reinforcement plastic. Now, on the broken side (pic 2) you can see what happens: when you wear the headphones, the band flexes out, which concentrates stress on the headband at the molded-in notches. After moderate use, the headband fractures, starting from the notches, eventually splitting the thinner section along the edge of the thicker reinforcing lump. It fractures the same way a Kit Kat bar fractures at the thin sections. An ugly example of engineered-in premature obsolescence.

> 3 dayI bought these for VO work and man is the quality ridiculous. I also unplug them and use them to listen to movies and music. Let’s just say that I’m never going back to my little earbuds again. They are comfortable for long periods and are very well made.

> 3 daySeems like every Sennheiser headphone has the same sound, dull and thin on bass. Very efficient sound levels, but lacking in detail.

> 3 dayWriting this review after 5 gigs. This headphone is better at noise cancelling, even if you have monitors around you, it does a great job when put on both ears. But while djing if you put on one ear for cue making ,it sounds low, you need to turn up the volume to the max. Otherwise there are comfortable, rigid, and ready to go.

> 3 dayBulky headphones. Excellcent sound quailty. Some isolation from the outside world is defintely there. The bass is definitely underpower for my taste and that was what I was after. Its feels a bit heavy after wearing it for awhile.

05-04-2025My father is 92 and has been using these headphones for over 8 years, he loves them for their clarity, volume and comfort....He may make it to 100, keep making them the same way, if there is any advise it would be to make the material around the foam earpieces a little more durable... :) ... not a deal breaker

> 3 dayHeadphones do not last long at all, my pair of headphones lasted only 3 months after fairly light use the wire is annoying and feels like it weighs down on your neck. The sound quality isnt anything special although.
