> 3 dayGot my wide this for a birthday gift ( she wanted it) first time she used it the sweeper vacuumed up so deep in the carpet it stood the fibers straight up. Couldnt believe the super fine partials it brought up that our other vacuum didnt touch. Nice length on cord , easy to assemble, easy to clean ...great so far.

> 3 dayThis is my first purchase of a Shark vacuum. After exhaustive research I settled on the Shark Vertex model based on reviews and comparative shopping. First, the positives, excellent suction, large dust storage container, multiple adjustments for roller height, ability to remove storage container to vacuum in difficult to reach areas, useful attachments, and overall sturdy feel while vacuuming. For all the positives, it is a little clunky. It is somewhat difficult to roll around during vacuuming because the the roller provides significant resistance on the back stroke, and it’s large size feels awkward, generally speaking. In conclusion, I will gladly take the relatively few negatives for the excellent overall performance and quality this vacuum offers.

> 3 dayWhat a difference this vacuum has made. In the past I would have to dust every day, dust so thick you could write your name in it and this happened even when vacuuming every day. This vacuum fixed the problem. I love it!! It is so easy to switch from bare floor to rug cleaning. The rug cleaning works great also. Vacuum is a little heavy but it is a great trade off for the suction. The only thing I do not like is the hair wrapping around the small rubber tires in the front of the vacuum. I have a constantly shedding border collie and cat and hair is everywhere. When I vacuum the hair winds around the small rubber wheel axles. I have to clean it out by using tweezers. I hope the future models of Shark have an easier way to clean this wheels.

> 3 dayThis is my first Shark, and Ive never owned a Dyson, but I do have 6 house cats and 2 horses and a plethora of chickens and turkeys, so the dirt tracked into my house is on a daily basis is in the overwhelming amount! FWIW, only the cats have access to the house, not the other critters, and only 2 go out on a semi-regular basis, so this is all about accumulated hair rather than dust/dirt underfoot as I change shoes at the door. I will say that it got the entrance mats by the doors almost as clean as power washing them, which was amazing as they are ribbed pile, not flat! the other vacuum wouldnt touch that. I bought this to combat the cat litter tracked and the hair, and sanitize the air, as I have allergy issues. I have mostly hard floors, a few area rugs, and an un-carpeted staircase that has been a huge problem with hair blobs. I have 100% woven wool area rugs in the living room, they are deep pile and have been a problem to get clean from the beginning, not to mention that they also shed! Here is how I rate the Shark: Suction is 100%, bare floor cleaning 100%, area rugs on pile setting and they are 80% clean. Some of that is probably because the rugs are old and need repeated vacuuming to get *all* the dirt out of them. I used the lift away feature to vacuum the corners of the rooms and it was long enough to reach, but just barely. Under furniture? NO problem! Basically I dont have to dust mop any longer as the floor finish roller does a great job of getting the dust up, too. The hand tools are powerful, I have slip covers on several pieces of furniture, and the power brush is too strong it can suck up the material making it hard to vacuum. So I use the un-powered brush attachment and that works great. The only thing that Im missing is a little mesh bag for organizing the extra attachments. For $350-$400, Shark should come up with a free bag for their customers. And, do yourself a favor and order the spare filters, they come in handy. I have to change mine each time I use it to get the best air quality. I simply rinse and dry the filters that come out and reuse them.

> 3 dayThe Shark AZ2002 Vertex is an awesome vacuum on wood floors, tile and carpet. The suction is so strong it will suck anything in its path. :-) Love using the lift-away with the dual-fins.

Greater than one weekMy old Shark APEX had a malfunctioning powerhead after two years of extremely heavy pet home use. I loved it and it would suck up small children if they got in the way! Couldnt get a new powerhead due to supply issues and really needed another vacuum in our three dog household. I decided on a new model, the Shark SRATOS, which was supposed to be as powerful and comparable to my old APEX. Pros: Its not quite as heavy as my old APEX. Hair doesnt get stuck in the brushroll, so the self cleaning brushroll description is accurate. It has a very long cord which makes it easier to vacuum large spaces without unplugging and replugging. It came with a separate pet hair head for the removable hose (which I never have used). The Odor Neutralizing feature was okay, though other reviewers reported they couldnt get replacement cartridges. (I havent tried to order a new one yet) Cons: Out of the box I could tell it was not as high quality, even though it was a bit pricier than my old one. Its lighter weight, feels plasticy, and more cheaply made (the removable suction wand is starting to not click back in to the vacuum after 3 months of use). It doesnt suck up small items like gravel, popcorn kernels, pet food, wood chips (or children) like the APEX does. And while, as advertised, the rubber brushroll doesnt collect pet hair, somehow it gets stuck between the front of the vacuum and the plush brushroll which never happened on my old APEX. All in all, I do like it and would recommend it but if I hadnt owned an older (by only two years) model Shark this one wouldve gotten 5 stars instead of 4.

Greater than one weekGood vacuum with powerful suction power. I just wish it there was a way to decrease the suction power doing kitchen and bathroom rugs. Like the other Shark vacuums, I have had in the past. The vent like thing. Other than that good vacuum. Always buy Shark....

> 3 dayI wasn’t planning to get a new vacuum cleaner, but I changed my mind after I noticed a significant defect in our old one. I do the overall floor vacuuming and mopping in our house each week. For the last 6 or 7 years I’ve been using my Bissell, “lift-off” vacuum. I’ve been pleased with it and would’ve given it a “4 Star” rating. My only complaint was that I had to secure my brush attachment with a bungy cord, otherwise—if I hit a bump—the brush would just fall off. I also had to hold the electric cord in place with a clothespin. But other than that, I was quite satisfied with the performance. I recently bought an Oreck, “Orbiter,” floor polisher from Amazon, so I could better clean our hardwood floors. However, I also learned the unit could be used on carpets as well. For that you spread a cleaning powder over the carpet surface and then work it into the material with the Orbiter. After that you vacuum up the powder—which captures the dirt—and the job is done. That’s how it’s supposed to work. However, once I started vacuuming with my Bissell, I noticed there was a fine mist of powder leaking from a variety of areas on my unit. I could see white powder going into my dust cup, but it was also circulating into the air around me. I had watched videos online showing the Orbiter being used like this and then being vacuumed up with no problem. What was wrong here? I won’t go into my struggles looking for an answer, but eventually I decided to try using another vacuum we have. A few years ago, my wife bought a Shark, “Navigator,” vacuum cleaner, because she thought the Bissell was too heavy and noisy. I do most of the vacuuming, but she likes to touch up areas when necessary. My wife bought this after getting rave reviews from her mom and sister. I actually never used it because I had my routine down with the Bissell. Anyway, I decided to get the Shark and try my luck. I was pleasantly surprised when the Shark sucked up the powder and kept all of it in the dust cup. Problem solved. I was very impressed with the Navigator and started using it to do the whole house. However, I made the mistake ($) of checking out the Shark website and saw what upgrades were available. I actually did a lot of research via YouTube on Shark Vacuums and decided I really wanted a Vertex. I monitored the Shark website for possible sales and finally saw a good value on the Vertex model. I checked Amazon and noted they had the same “limited time deal” on the Vertex, so I ordered one immediately. By the way—when I checked the next day—the sale was already over. I know this is a long story, but I wanted to emphasize the importance of getting a superior filtering system. One of the videos I saw on YouTube was titled, “Don’t Buy a Cheap Vacuum.” One of the major points made was that everybody should spend enough money to get a “sealed” filtration system. Now I realized my Bissell must’ve been releasing invisible dust all these years. Yuck. Now I didn’t like my old vacuum very much at all. Anyway, I received my Vertex and used it yesterday and today (5/7/21). You know…I’m embarrassed to admit how much I like this machine and how excited I was to be getting it. The first day I worked on three bedrooms with carpets, two bathrooms with tile, and a hard floor hallway. For the record, I vacuum at least once a week and I’ve been using the Navigator for the past two weeks. However, after a normal run-through with the Vertex, the dust cup was full of crud—most of which—must have come from the carpets. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve never seen that much dirt come out of one vacuuming session and I had only done about one half of the house. It must’ve been pulled out of the carpets, because I know the floors can’t get that dirty. I know this review is too long, so I’ll just say that I really appreciate everything about this vacuum. The suction power is great. It handles easily and although I always wear ear plugs—my wife says it’s not too loud. There are plenty of informative videos about Shark vacuums on YouTube. If you’re considering getting a Vertex, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

> 3 dayI have gone through 3 vacuums with my labs. This is the best one for hair that never stops coming...it doesnt clog the roller and its easy to use. The suction is great and I like the fact you can clear the hoses easily.
