Great vacuum! Love the suction-only feature (no brush rotation if so desired), as my new carpeting is loop-pile not cut-pile so I cant use a rotating brush on it. Great suction. Works great on my hardwood floors! Lightweight but powerful. Love the easy of the hose-only feature, and its easy to dump the canister. Love the articulating head to get around objects and under furniture. Ive never said I loved a vacuum before (and Ive had many in 50 years)--I love this vacuum! Would buy from this seller again--the vacuum was delivered in one day! Very reasonably priced too.

With vacuum cleaners costing five hundred dollars lately we reviewed on YouTube and found this model in top five. We like that it does not swivel at the head. Swivel heads difficult to maneuver. Goes low enough to get under couches and chairs. Works great on carpet and floors. Good overall vacuum cleaner for well under 200$.

I was amazed and embarrassed how much dirt this vacuum picked up from my ‘clean’ carpet the first time I used it! So easy to maneuver (my first swivel vacuum), great vacuum and easy to empty canister. So worth the money - lived the prompt shipping and went together super fast!

Picks up just about anything you need it to. I like the fact that the handle and the hose is detachable. Either with the wand or just the handle. Easy to use.

The review further below is one I wrote a few months ago. Additional added: After 10 months I wanted to clean some gunk out of the brush area where the clear plastic view window is located. There are 8 screws you have to remove including some hidden ones, and I discovered they are all T-15 torx security. I am an experienced DYI guy, and have tons of tools, including torx, but had never encountered torx security. They have a small pont inside the screw head that requires a special hollowed out torx security bit - I had to buy a set. I dont know the reason why Shark would do this - maybe to get you to take it into an expensive repair shop. But if you ever have to change a belt, which is common task, or clean out the brush area, you are going to need these special screw removers T-15 torx security. Get long length 3 because at least one screw is deely recessed. Also, you have to pop out the very small plastic rollers at the front to gain accees to two screws that are hidden beneath those tiny rollers. Near the large rear wheels, you will see two screws near each wheel. You do not have to remove the ones that are aligned with the wheels axles, but you do have to remove the ones that are in that area a little deeper set. I have had this for about two months. When it first came I was surprised by how small it was. The cleaning path width is only about 2/3 the width of my old Eureka, so I figured it would take 1/3 longer to vacuum. Well, I dont know about actual time, but after using it almost daily since we got a new dog about 3 weeks ago, I can tell you I really, really like it. I dont miss the extra width at all. This thing is very lite weight (maybe 50% lighter than old Eureka) and maneuvers very easily. The way the main handle unit tilts/pivots from the base allows you to make quick sharp turns with ease. There is no height adjustment, but again, dont miss it. It does well on our medium pile carpets, and berber carpets. The switch has 3 positions - off, on with no brush, on with brush. When using on with brush it literally pulls itself (gently) across the carpet. I use the no brush position to clean bare floors, and also area throw rugs. It is amazing how much unseen dog hair it sucks up from carpet. Really easy to empty canister - just two small snaps and it comes off. Another snap on bottom of canister allows bottom to open up / hang and hair and debris falls right out (I do have to sometimes reach my hand up and along inside walls for compacted dog hair). Close the bottom, put it back on handle base, and it snaps back in using the two snaps. There are a few things i dont like : The cord holder near the top of the handle doesnt work very well, any pressure upward from your hand as you move cord around and the cord pops out of holder. I ended up using a small zip tie to hold cord in place at very top of handle. Like many lite weight vacuums, its tough to use the hose and attachments because if you work any distance from the main unit the main unit tips over due to hose and lite weight of main unit. Also, the two included tools (crevice tool and upholstery brush) can get knocked off pretty easily when bumped while they are on the holder as they dont snap in - just a slight press fit on the bottom one. Overall - really like unit for main purpose - vacuuming carpet.

First off, this is a really good vacuum and I would love to have given it 5 stars. The cord length is great. It does stand-up just fine. Pushes nicely over the carpet. Swivels nicely. etc. I had professional floor cleaners come through 4 days ago, and this vacuum still picked up 3 full bins of dog hair and dust. Pros: 1. Great Suction 2. Easy to push around carpet 3. great maneuverability 4. great design the way you can detach the wand and do corners and other hard to reach places quickly and with ease. 5. Long enough cord. 6. If something gets caught in the beater brush, it will turn the brush off automatically, once you pull the shoe lace out, or whatever jammed it, all you have to do is stand the vacuum up fully and then start vacuuming again. 7. It is relatively quiet. 8. Tool holder is pretty handy. 9. Nice hepa filtration. 10. Lift-away technology, so you can easily detach the beater brush and vacuum with just the canister and hose. Though I never really use the much. Its just nice to have :-) Cons: 1. Biggest complaint is the dirt bin. There is a notch that the hair can get caught, which makes it not empty as smoothly as it should. I only had this problem 1 time out of 3 emptys. My old Shark did not have this problem. See picture attached. Circled in red. 2. Its a little heavy for doing stairs (I have a lot of stairs). But its not terribly heavy by any means. 3. Like pretty much every vacuum, managing the cord is a little tricky, you should keep some slack with your pinky or fingers up by the handle, this makes it easier to manage. I also looked at the Bissel Cleanview Swivel. Which is a lot cheaper, and probably about as good, but I have 2 large German Shepherds, and I know what people are complaining about when they says the drive belt starts burning up if something gets stuck in the brush. I have have an older Bissel and had that same exact problems with it. But it still works. I also had an older Bissel that I had to throw out because the belt would fry every time you turned it on. I may get the new Bissel though to keep on a different floor of the house and compare them side-by-side. I also have a Dyson V7 cordless which is good for hardwood floors, tile etc. It does work on stairs and carpet, but nowhere near as good as this Shark (understandably so, the Dyson is just a battery vacuum, and the beater brush spins by air suction, tiny dust bin, totally different type of vacuum). I would recommend the Dyson for quick cleanups though. Take away: This is a great vacuum and has some good features that some of the other vacuums dont. It picks up the hair and dirt very nicely (I have 2 large German Shepherds). Emptying the dirt bin isnt always as smooth and easy as it should be, but I would still recommend it.

This vacuum is amazing!!!! I have a tall rug that was impossible to vacuum with my old vacuum. But this one has made it so much easier, and even more so on regular carpet!!!! Must have

I have spent hundreds of dollars on vacuums in the past and have not had one work as good as this one for cleaning up our dog hair. We have 4 dogs who shed ALOT! We have an English Bulldog, a Pug, a Lab and a mutt. It picks up the tiny short hairs of the bulldog and the long course hairs of the lab and mutt off of our hard wood floors and carpet areas.
