It pains me to give this microphone three stars. Truly does, but my experience with this microphone was a bit anti-climatic. The Shure SM58 is the live sound benchmark, the standard-issue, it is universally loved, and always there - on-stage in photos, gig bags, and event studios! Needless to say, I was not at all expecting to have any qualms about this microphone and was excited at the prospects of adding such a well-respected product lineage from a well respected brand in the music industry to my cache of live sound equipment.

What is there to say, its a 58. if you buy one I will bet if you are still not using it in 10 years someone else will be.

IT a good quality

I bought this microphone after reading many reviews on Amazon.com, magazines, advice of friends. I have started my own series of podcasts, and this microphone is exactly what another reviewer says: A WORKHORSE!

I have used this model for a long time. It is solid and has good sound quality. Are there better ones? Well yes but most musicians stay broke and this one is reasonable and will last if you take care of it. I have kicked these off the stage (while in the stand)threw them across stage and hit my self in the head with them many times. The worst that I ever did to it was knock the top grill off. It still worked though. I have broken every other mic I have owned. I hope they still make them like they used to because I just got a new one. We will see...

Love the mic. Performs very well. Im very pleased with my purchase.
