I dont see any special prime lens photos from this lens. At this focal view, it could use optical steady shot. Like most lens, especially the

Sigma rocks!

I almost regreted my choice prior to delivery thinking the Sony 35mm 1.8 lens might have been the better choice. Now the Sigma has arrived I am pleased to say it is superb. Firstly the reviews, although very good, point out the fact that oss is not availabe for this lens unlike the sony lens. Also the sigma is noisy when auto focusing. Considering I wanted a lens that deals with low light in video as well as stills I had concerns aboit my choice. I need not have worried. On video, the lack of oss seems to make little difference. Just be aware, work smoothly or simply support the camera where possible. But then isnt that just old school common sense, dating back to when image stabalization didnt exist ?? And as far as auto focus motor noise. No more or less than my sony lenses, ie kit, pancake and 18-200.

This is a nice lens for the $, but much larger than Id expected. Only slightly smaller than the 18-135 lens from Sony I like so much. For me, I was hoping this Sigma lens would be an all around prim lens that made the camera smaller, but does not really accomplish that goal. I spent the extra $ on the Sony 1.8/35 which is much smaller and a great lens. If the added size does not matter (insert bad joke here!), the Sigma is a good option for the $.

Light and small lens, produces amazing quality images at this price range. Coupled with a Sony Nex F3, it forms a discreet and practical set, good for portraits and street photos.

Silent and fast autofocus, the sharpest lens that I ever tried in my life with aps-c digital cameras by Sony.

Best lens for sony crop cameras. Just amazing all around lens. and with 1.4 aperture, really helps out with the image quality esp at low light

Product well packaged, well built lens, super fast autofocus, super sharp images and very good price. I recommend it to veterans and newbies.
