No problems at all. Simple install and format in Windows 11

I purchased this internal SSD and couldn’t get Windows installer to recognize it, so I sent it back, thinking I got a bad one. Got another one and had the same problem. It was seen in BIOS of laptop but wasn’t seen when Windows looked for a drive to install OS to. I called HP, and I was told that drives can’t be found during Windows installation when the laptop has a Intel 11th generation processor. I had to download Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers to the Windows installation USB drive, and then I had to install them to the SSD in first step of Windows install.

I was hesitant to purchase this m.2 drive as it is a brand I hadnt used before. But I took a chance on it because the price was hard to pass up. Installation into my second m.2 slot was fast and my machine instantly recognized the drive. Upon the first boot into Windows, I was asked to initialize the drive, which I did. I then added a partition and was up and running in just a minute or so. My primary drive is a Samsung 980 Pro. I loaded up the Samsung Magician software and did a benchmark, boy was I surprised at just how fast this Hynix m.2 drive is (see screenshot). Needless to say Im impressed and wont be hesitant next time I need another m.2 drive. Id definitely buy another one.

I splurged and bought myself an Alienware computer for gaming, but after only a few months, I was getting hard disk full errors. I originally thought there were 2 hard drives, but soon realized, they had created multiple partitions on one drive, which became such a nuisance when installing new software. Eventually I had moved every possible thing I could to the D drive, with the exception of the OS, and it was still giving me the message!! I was so aggravated!!

The SK hynix Gold 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD was utilized in my HP Vectus laptop computer. When I purchased my computer, 512 GB SSD was the largest from HP that I could purchase. Since I had experience with SK hynix SSDs in the past this was a logical choice. I utilized the SK hynix System Migration Utility that can be downloaded, the rest is history. I cloned my old SSD to the new, was up and running in about twenty minutes. Perfect.

Bought it for the new OWC Envoy Express Enclosure to use on my MacMini. The enclosure shows up in System Information on my MacMini but no drive: SSD will not mount or show up. SK Hynix wrote me back and said it is NOT to be used in external enclosures, only internally. That was not in the description on the Amazon site. Course, Amazon will not refund or allow return. Not happy here.

This SSD shows the best performance.

One of the worst drives I have bought yet along with terrible customer service. I would recommended another brand.

Then this is it. Hynix has been a leading memory maker for a long time and the quality shows in their drives. Solid, fast and a perfect replacement for the factory installed

If you plan to expand or clone your current drive then you need buy or find a software that will clone your drive. The thing is Samsung comes with the software for free and it’s super easy to clone using the Samsung software. This ssd also runs extremely hot. I would recommend the Samsung one when it goes on sale.
