> 3 dayI like how user friendly they are and easy to install. They’re too thick and prevent our sliding glass doors from being fully closed from the outside though. They were cheap enough I’m not horribly upset, they at least served their purpose to keep our kiddo from being able to let himself out of our home until we get something better.

> 3 dayThese work great! I wish we had these when my kids were little instead of drilling holes in our doors for a special lock. Just remember to put them up high enough so the kiddies cant reach them. Keep in mind you do not have to have kids to use them. This will also help as an extra layer of security protection for your sliding doors.

> 3 daySo this is another toddler safety item we purchased that was a total dud. Completely useless and NOT SAFE to trust. My toddler has a room upstairs & we wanted to keep him from getting out the windows and falling to his doom. The included adhesive holds the device to the window very well, but thats where the positives end. The device itself is very flimsy and cheaply made first of all. Secondly, the mechanism of action is a complete headscratcher. I assumed that the device would be locked in place by default, and squeezing both small tabs at once would unlock or release the big flap part and allow an adult to open a window. Its the OPPOSITE, which is mind-bogglingly dumb. The device obstructs the window by default, sure, but you can just PRESS THE BIG FLAP DOWN to unlock it. You then squeeze the two tabs to lock the window. So the easiest thing in the world for a toddler to do is the part thats supposed to protect them, and then the only part thats hard for a toddler is the locking part that we dont care about. It should be EASY to lock and then DIFFICULT to unlock, obviously. To be clear, a toddler can just lean on this or bop it with their little hands and it will lock itself closed, meaning that the window can then be opened..... Its literally designed to be easy to unlock, which is crazy. I puzzled over this for a little bit and then realized that this is *probably* originally an item for securing the window against outside intruders. They then just rebranded the graphics for the listing and maybe the injection molded colors to be more toddler friendly and are attempting to sell it for toddler safety, which is hilariously negligent. Some parents are inevitably dumb enough to fall for this without even contemplating the mechanism, but thats still crappy and unethical as heck. Stay far, far away from this product.

> 3 dayThis child lock is super easy to install and does its job by preventing my toddler from opening the sliding glass door. It doesnt keep the door 100% closed (so toddler can crack it open and let flies in) but it serves its purpose as a child lock.

Greater than one weekGreat build and quality, but was too think and wouldn’t work with my doors.

Greater than one weekI love that I can use this at the top of my sliding door, but it is easier to disengage the lock then it is to set it and I have a problem with that when it comes to my wild child. All he has to do is press it in and boom, he’s out the sliding door. Realistically as parents we know children climb chairs and tables to reach what they want, and this prevents nothing if a child can reach it. If a mechanism was added to prevent the lock from going flat, then I would give it five stars.

07-06-2025Overall, it does what it says. Once you place them they hold sliding doors/windows from opening. There were a few items I didnt like though. First, the sticking pad is a very solid 3. The first lock I placed left a sliding gap larger than I liked so I took it off. This was very difficult and I was worried I would end up breaking the glass from the amount of pressure I needed to try and cut it loose. After that, I ended up cutting out a hole in the center for when it would be time to remove them. Like I said, the sticking pads themselves are very solid, it didnt affect their ability to hold the lock in the least. The second thing I didnt like is that the lock cannot be set flush with a sliding door or window. Doing so prevents the rubber weather strip from closing properly once the its shut again. This means you have to off-set it by about the width of the weather strip. On one of my doors this was about 1/4 and it let the sliding door open enough for my toddler to stick a finger through. So, while I dont worry that hell be able to open the door, or that with that small gap hell slam the door on his fingers, I do have to keep an eye that he doesnt try to open the door and get his fingers stuck. The last thing I didnt like was how hard the locks release buttons are to reset. To reset, or unlock, you need to press the popup lock on top & bottom, and perpendicular to the window or door. I dont think thats necessarily an issue on medium or small windows, but on a sliding door you can see the glass bending. Overall theyre ok, and these issues are probably less pronounced when used on windows. I might do more shopping comparisons though, if looking for a sliding door lock replacement in the future.
