> 3 dayI want to start off by saying the sound quality is good and the noise cancelling is okay,i honestly do not get all the rave and 5 stars reviews, maybe it’s just me? These feel cheap to me,they are lighweight (which is a plus) but the material makes it feel like $30 walmart headphones.Since we’re on the topic of prices, these are heavily overpriced,i mean are you guys just all filthy rich to spend $400 on these headphones(seeing as they feel cheap) and be okay with it?I wouldn’t pay more than $200 for these headphones (which is what they should be priced at) so yeah i did end up returning them, the main issues being the price and the fact that they feel cheap. Also i found it to be a pain having to connect these to my phone everytime, whenever they were off my head for 5 minutes they’d go into sleep mode which was a pain in the as$ because i’d have to open the app, press the power button,go on my settings and try and reconnect them,i wish they would connect more faster like airpods that connect instantly,so yes these get a 3/5 stars for me

> 3 dayThis is truly amazing. First, they fit perfectly over my ears and are so comfortable Second, The sound quality is awesome. Third, the features are excellent. I can set it so if I need to hear people talking I can, or set it to hear only whatever I am listening to. I really like all the features of these headphones. Honestly, this is the best headphones I have ever purchased. Well worth the cost. They fold and have an amazing case to carry them in as well.

> 3 dayI need silence, I didnt realize that the microphone is also dealing with the noise cancellation too. Fantastic

> 3 dayI absolutely love these headphones. I cannot believe how good the noise cancelling capability is. I was in a crowded noisy coffee shop and with the click of a button drowned everything out. It was actually surreal and alarming how well it worked. Then clocking the same button I can listen to my music but also pick up whats going on in my surroundings. Theyre amazing and, while expensive, very well worth it. I have no issues or problems with them at all.

> 3 dayThese really are amazing headphones! They are soft and comfortable, great sound quality, and the noise cancellation is unmatched. I dont use them to take calls but I am okay with that personally.

> 3 dayCumbersome when compared to other noise cancelling headphones as well as HUGE case. The WH-1000XM4 case is very slim, sleek, and compact - something easily carried on a plane where one would expect to use it most. The WH-1000XM5 case is BULKY, oddly shaped, and definitely not something that can be easily carried on a plane and utilized. The main reason for this is that the headphones dont fold like the XM4s do which is a HUGE disadvantage in my opinion. I personally dont care for the on/off button either. Many other higher-end noise cancelling headphones utilize the tilting headphone as the on/off activation which is easy, efficient, and preserves the battery. And an app ... why on earth does one need an APP in order to use the headphones. The only thing these headphones really have going for them is their noise cancelling ability and battery life are good. The negatives far outweigh the positives for the XM5s. Save your money and buy the XM4s or even another brand if truly looking for an exceptional set of headphones as these definitely are not in my humble opinion.

> 3 dayIf youre going to be wearing these headphones for many hours, then this is a bad choice. After 1 hour of work, the head and ears begin to hurt.

> 3 dayMost people buy this to enjoy music or for the looks. I bought this to get some peace and quiet. I’m a mom of a 2 year old and every single day we have noise. My husband watches tiktok videos on the loudest volume possible while my son is dancing or singing a song. While I love days like this, I found myself over stimulated. It was getting too frustrating and I researched and these were the best noise cancelling headphones in the market. The people were right. I cannot hear a peep when I put these on and I am able to refresh and charge myself for the more hectic moments. I enjoy a little bit of ASMR every now and then and I feel much better. I’m very happy with my purchase and use them everyday. Battery life is also a plus. So I really enjoy this feature with all the other bonuses like high quality sound, aesthetically pleasing, lightweight, etc. Maybe the only con, is the sweat that gets around the headphones but I live in a hot area and just swipe it with a dry rag and I go on. It’s nothing compared to the benefits I get from it.

> 3 dayI went from using some Skullcandy crushers to these. Initially I did not like how they sounded so thankfully the app has an EQ that you can use to change the sound. They are so much more comfortable than my old headphones. Overall, I would recommend these headphones.

> 3 dayHave had these a month and wear them every day for work for teams meetings. The sound is amazing, noise cancelling spot on, but the product manager blew it on one thing. They didnt put a mute/unmute function on these. Sonys answer is to unmute in the application. So if you are on a teams meeting and are cooking lunch of course you will have yourself muted. The noise cancelling is good, but banging pots and pans will still come through somewhat. Or what if I want to say something to my wife while on the call? The range on the blue tooth is amazing which just means you have further to run back to your laptop to unmute. This is a complete pain in the you know what. So, if you are buying these for a plane only, go for it. I would submit that you dont need $400 headphones for a plane, they all do adequate at cancelling white noise. You need this level of functionality for work. You also need a mute button for work. Absolute huge miss Sony and I should not have assumed it was there.
