Greater than one weekResidential network where I pulled string out of the walls using a robust, antiquated phone line network, replaced with Cat6 throughout. This is definitely the right size rack for any home network that has or will eventually have wired ports, network storage and/or security cameras. Overkill if youre doing less than 6-10 network drops, or have a full pile of rack-able home theater equipment (might be too small in that case). As others have mentioned, the cross bar is mounted in a way thats convenient for the manufacturer to ship, but you SHOULD plan on flipping or reversing the cross bar to suit your needs. There are pre-drilled holes top and bottom of the unit, so mine is re-mounted upside down on the bottom of the rack, so as not to conflict with a rack power strip, and to free up space at the top for a rack shelf. I would agree with others, too, that say its plenty robust without, once you have a few devices mounted. YMMV.

> 3 dayThis is a well made 6U Svr Rack ideal to upgrade or expand your network at home or in your business. Sturdy construction made out of steel and easy to install. I would recommend if you have one using an impact driver to screw the screws in but slowly. You want thr rack to be surface.

> 3 dayAwesome little network rack for home use. I am using this with a 24-port patch panel, 48-port managed switch, a rackmount PSU, and a rack shelf that holds my Edgerouter Lite, a 5 port managed switch and a Raspberry Pi. Has a lot of room to spare. Study construction. Would buy another.

Greater than one weekThis review is for the 6U rack. The rack is sturdy enough and appears well built. Unfortunately, the included hardware is just 12 screws and 12 cage nuts. Of course, that is not enough hardware to be able to fill a full 6U rack. Should be at least 24 screws+nuts. Does it say just 12 screws+nuts are included? Yes, so buyer beware. I chatted with Mohammed at StarTech support to tell them I needed more hardware for a 6U rack and he declined to help. It says 12 are included so thats all you get. Terrible customer service in my opinion, but theyd rather have me leave a review like this instead of helping the customer. Id look elsewhere for a rack that includes all the necessary hardware.

Greater than one weekThis is basically just sheet metal that has been bend and drilled. It holds the cage nuts fine (it came with some, but you will need more), and mounts to the wall solidly. It is thin enough that you can drill through it easily to add more mounting points to the wall. It shakes from side-to-side until you fill it. I have all 6u filled, and it seems much more solid now. I used some 1u blanks to fill in some space for now, and to add rigidity. I dont think that it is going anywhere.

06-06-2025Excellent wall mounted rack for the price - just keep in mind buying additional front mounting screws will cost about the price of the entire rack.

> 3 dayImpressed with StarTech quality and price. I used this rack for ham radio shack and scanners. the rack came with a good set of screw and bolts that I used to mount rack shelves from ACInfinity. looks awesome for me.

> 3 dayHolds everything it needs. Its stable when mounted. I mounted wood to the wall prior to mounting the rack. It arrived a bit bent where the devices mount, but I was able to straighten it out with a pliers and after securing a device to the rack, it worked itself out. It organizes everything nicely. There are enough screws and mount clips to do what you need.
