> 24 hourSnow plow took out the old one. Had it for over 12 years before the snow got too deep and the plows came through. They are sturdy and attractive. Oh and keeps mail and papers dry too.

> 24 hourDuring a heavy snow storm, the township plow broke the top off of our mailbox. We could not find this mailbox in our local big-box stores. Fortunately we found it on Amazon and at a better price than alternative models in our local stores. Being the same model, we removed the damaged mailbox from the inground post and replaced it easily.

> 24 hourEasy to install IF you already have a post dug. It is a very roomy mailbox. Seems very weatherproof.

> 24 hourGreat value for a well made product. The only improvement that would make the mail box better, would be to make the rear panel a little wider to completely cover the rear opening.

> 24 hourBy far the best quality plastic mailbox for the money I could find. Straight forward install on a 4x4 post. Id recommend that Step 2 make it single sided for most people. The double sided opening can result in mail being pushed out the back by the carrier and/or the newspaper getting wet through the back flap. We just screwed the back doors shut.

> 24 hourI do not like the re-design of the joint between the actual box and the upright post part. My previous one of the same style had plastic push in fasteners not stainless steel screws. If struck by a slow moving vehicle or lawn mower it would come apart and could then be easily put back together with the plastic push pins or new ones purchased locally. I know! I have made the simple repair/reassembly several times. I even considered drilling the new one to accept the plastic pins BUT they redesigned the joint so that cannot now be done. I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER LIKE THIS ONE!!!!!

> 24 hourThis review is written for people who have mailboxes on a state road with winter plows constantly knocking them down. This is the only mailbox that’s practical. I’ve learned not to nail the top piece into the post so when the plow drives into it as they always do the toppiece usually flies off but I can later pick up the pieces and reasseble. The doors, back paper flap all come apart but don’t break. This mailbox is my fourth replacement and my only disappointment is that the post is open so it has to be nailed. My former Step2 mailboxes were a complete sleeve that just slid over the post. And, the companies installation picture shows two people attaching the pieces—that’s correct. It’s a bit more difficult to put togethers solo. But in the end, it’s a great mailbox —that the state snowplowers keep the company in business.
