Step2 540200 MailMaster Plus Mailbox, Spruce

During a heavy snow storm, the township plow broke the top off of our mailbox. We could not find this mailbox in our local big-box stores. Fortunately we found it on Amazon and at a better price than alternative models in our local stores. Being the same model, we removed the damaged mailbox from the inground post and replaced it easily.

I love this mailbox! Like other Step 2 products, it is both sturdy and easy to install. There is ample room for both the stack of mail I receive daily as well as the Sunday paper. It comes with clear instructions for installation and all the hardware needed to set it up.

This is a really nice and sturdy mailbox. I like it a lot but it was not easy to put together. there are not any pre-drilled holes in the plastic and I found it challenging to get a screw to go through it. I could get over all of that if it actually fit on a 4x4 properly. I thought maybe it was how I installed the post so I tried the extra piece of 4x4 I had and it does not fit into the back properly so the cover can go over it. This really isnt a huge issue as it still installed and works. However, its not aesthetically pleasing. The mailbox looks very nice and Id buy it again however, really wish theyd fix the backing at least.

I would give it more stars if actually came with everything it claims. BOTH magnets are missing, so the doors dont close.
