> 3 dayThis would have been a 5 star item if it came with a post made of the same material. To make it solid and durable I used 2 gilbralter anchor post bought through Amazon and concreted them. I also reversed the bottom portion then placed the mailbox on top. I did this because when I placed it as pictured it looked like it was pitching forward too much. The reversed position gives it a different look but one that is not odd but oddly enough an attractive one. Overall I am pleased with my purchase as the mailbox is large, well constructed and attractive.

> 3 dayThis review is written for people who have mailboxes on a state road with winter plows constantly knocking them down. This is the only mailbox that’s practical. I’ve learned not to nail the top piece into the post so when the plow drives into it as they always do the toppiece usually flies off but I can later pick up the pieces and reasseble. The doors, back paper flap all come apart but don’t break. This mailbox is my fourth replacement and my only disappointment is that the post is open so it has to be nailed. My former Step2 mailboxes were a complete sleeve that just slid over the post. And, the companies installation picture shows two people attaching the pieces—that’s correct. It’s a bit more difficult to put togethers solo. But in the end, it’s a great mailbox —that the state snowplowers keep the company in business.

> 3 dayGreat mail box. It was easy to install. The only negative would be that in 105° temperatures the numbers tend to curl and melt off the box. I may end up painting numbers onto the box.

> 3 dayWe were looking for a sturdy mailbox after the plow took ours down. We also live in an area where the soil is hard clay so didnt want to dig, pour cement etc. This also replaced the need for a separate newspaper tube. We chose to purchase a 24 inch stake and mount the 4x4 post on to it. The post was 2 ft. Everything went together like a charm and the mailbox is firm in the ground. I know some reviews mentioned the stake method being wobbly but I really think it depends on your soil. The mailbox is clean looking too and not many parts. All in all I think we put thus up in under 15 minutes and has been up for weeks now without issue. Love that it is made in the USA too. I do think when winter comes I will do as many others, put plywood up to protect it.

> 3 dayThis is easy to install and works as intended. Make sure the bottom is resting on a solid level foundation or it will be wobbly. Im knocking a start off due to the little decal on the rear of it making it look like a toddler toy.

Greater than one week100% better than my old mailbox, but wish the pole covers fit better and had a more finished look. Still for the price, I would buy again. I took the existing 4x4 pole and cut it down to the right height, and installed it in 15-20 minutes. I painted areas where the bolts were a bit too noticeable, and the gaps where the wood showed through the gaps of the plastic cover.
