An exceptionally accessible worker placement game that is fun for two players. The visitor cards add a degree of uncertainty so unlike many euro games where the playing formula can predictable and almost rote-like, this one can throw a few interesting twists in gameplay. It may take a couple of playthroughs to finally feel comfortable with the choices and timing sequences but then the game will begin to show a good deal of depth and replay ability. The subject is represented so as to not be too abstract so you kind of feel the joy of actually making and building something. Player interaction is not vicious or aggressive other than the occasional blocking of opponents workers but even in this the system allows for other paths to accomplish tasks (enter visitor cards, and grande worker). Its one of our go-to games. We play Italian music while we play. It sets a nice tone.

Beautiful game, lots of things to do and many strategies to follow. We play it mainly as a two player game and we have a lot of fun.

Pretty much every game night, my friends have to force me to play something else because Im totally obsessed with this game. The more I play it, the more different ways I realize I can play. You can focus on early resources (money, selling fields, planting, and harvesting), playing it like a card game with the visitors and the cottage, etc. There are so many ways to play and the theme is totally on point. Every action totally makes sense theme-wise. Its a beautiful game and a great time!

The game is very fun- everyone agrees. Very clear rules, great quality pieces, all accounted for. Single and multiplayer available and you can play with just two people and have a really great time. Highly suggested.

Viticulture is a great game. It plays in about 1 hour or less with 2 players. There is a good level of strategy - 5/10 for complexity but even though it is not super complex there are many enjoyable parts to it. It is a worker placement game, and in each round you have a choice whether or not to play your workers in the summer and/or fall seasons. The game ends when one player reaches 20 points, not when a set number of rounds are complete. It is inordinately entertaining to harvest grapes by putting little glass counters on the crush pad, then make wine by transferring them to the cellar. Red and white wines can be combined to make rose and sparkling wines, or just straight by themselves. Of course this game is also the perfect excuse to pour yourself a glass of wine while you play. Much fun!

Our family went to Sonoma for a reunion so I bought this for evening game time. At first, it took over two hours and we were all flumoxed and could not understand the rules. No one could sleep at night as we were going over strategies in our minds. The next day and days following, we were quite hooked and it got very competitive!! I am glad I bought the extra metal coins to go with it. Needless to say, this game will be an essential for all future family reunions!

This is the first worker placement game I played and I love it! It is great to learn with other people. Once you get the mechanics of the game it is very enjoyable. I fell in love with the game almost immediately. It has lots of replay value. I won the second time I played! Thank you for a wonderful game that I know I will enjoy for many, many years. Its a keeper!

Viticulture is one of the best worker placement games I’ve ever played (if not the best). You have to get the essential edition if you are going to get this game. It’s been hand tailored from the base game from non other than Uwe Rosenberg
