The game mechanics were a little boring. At first the wine making theme seemed very interesting, but this worker placement game was not for me.

Viticulture is one of my favorite games to play. Definitely my favorite worker placement game.

Easy to learn, hard to master and win. Great climate - also when supported by a glass of some good wine.

Played it for the first time with my regular game night group. Everyone enjoyed it and were looking forward to playing it again. On a side note, awesome customer service as well. My game was missing a piece (no big deal) but the company delivered it to me within a few days.

Most board games don’t downsize nicely for two. This one sings. My wife loves the wine production theme. She says it makes the game play easy to understand. It’s a great game.

This game is very fun but also be warned it is very long! I play this with my group who normally likes playing stuff like Catan and Splendor. They did play Lords of Waterdeep before, which is an easier, less complicated Worked Placement game so it was a bit easier to explain the rules. That said, teaching them how to play this one was still difficult because of the different phases in the game. You play the game through rounds which are called years. The years are separated through 4 seasons with 2 of the seasons being when you place your workers. The point of the game is to sell wine to get victory points. In order to sell your wine, you need to create wine. In order to create wine, you need grapes. In order to get grapes, you need to plant vines. In order to plant vines you need vine cards and place a worker on the planting spot. All of this takes up your limited workers and can only be done on certain seasons. Because of this, the game takes a REALLY LONG TIME. When I taught a new group of 4 to play, it took us 4 HOURS to finish the game. Once they knew how to play, it still takes about 2 hours for a group of 4 to finish a game. If your group is mostly beginners or you dont think theyll want to dedicate 2-3 hours for a game, I suggest you try Lords of Waterdeep first. The gameplay is very similar just way, way simpler. That being said, I like this game more.

So far, Ive enjoyed playing the solo version of this game. It helps me get acquainted with the game before teaching it to my group. While there are a bit more parts to deal with here, they are visually fun, like the glass bits for tracking wine. I store a small plastic cup in my box to hold those while playing.
