> 3 dayI just received my siege lantern and so far I am happy with my purchase. I also own the siege aa and will try to explain why both have advantages and disadvantages . First off, the siege is much brighter than its little brother. On high, the siege definetly lights up a room noticeably brighter than the aa version. The red light is also much brighter and you can actually see things several feet away from you. However, the size of the lantern makes it a little big for anything more than home or auto use. Would work great if you are not planning on throwing it in a backpack. The siege aa looks a lot smaller than the big one but is still extremely bright and versatile. One of the best features is its compact size, you can fit it in a standard drink holder if you wanted to ( I am thinking boat or automobile use). If you are planning on using this to light up a camp site, I would go with the big one. It should work good under a canopy on a picnic table, or in a boat for night fishing. I personally think it is a wise investment to get both. Sometimes you want the bigger, brighter one for stationary use and other times the smaller, more mobile siege aa will be more usefull. If you opt for the big one only, I highly recommend some parallel, 3aa batteries to d size spacers loaded with rechargeable batteries. This way you can have extra batteries if needed for other devices because you can run the lantern with only 1 battery in each spacer.

> 3 dayThe Streamlight Siege lantern is an excellent product and does everything youd expect from a lantern and more. I especially like the red LED feature for preserving night vision. The one BIG downfall with this light is the very limited lifetime warranty. The lifetime warranty excludes the switch and all electronics in the lantern, which are only covered for TWO YEARS from the date of purchase. Thats not a long time for something that will only be used for emergencies or the occasional camping trip. If something is going to go wrong with this lantern, I can guarantee you that it will be the switch or the electronic components. What else could possibly fail that wouldnt be considered the result of abuse or normal wear? That really makes this lifetime warranty pretty useless in my opinion. Although Streamlight has a decent reputation for making good products, you need to consider the risks with this warranty given the $40 price tag, which is a premium price as far as LED lanterns go. The Streamlight Siege lantern was Streamlights answer to the very popular Rayovac Sportsman 3D LED lantern (SE3DLN), which does offer a lifetime warranty that includes switches and electronic components. That lantern is also built tough as nails but it lacks the red LED option, which may or may not be a concern for others. The Rayovac also costs $10-$15 less, so thats the tradeoff, but the much better lifetime warranty makes the Rayovac Sportsman 3D lantern a much better option in my opinion.

> 3 dayThese are great little lanterns and the magnets on the bottom come in handy. They last a long time and theyre durable too. Ive dropped mine on a few occasions but the rubber padding help to protect the light.

> 3 dayI had a couple of cheaper lamps, but I wanted to get a high quality lamp...this is definitely it. Very bright and I like the red function. This did help a lot finding our camp site in the dark!

> 3 dayBought one based on the high reviews. Tried it out and it works fine. Im not sure why but I expected it to throw a bit more light. Good for one room and will provide light for several other areas open to the source. Not something you want to read by but adequate for storm and other situations where power is out. Would agree that this is an excellent camping light source.

> 3 dayOur neighborhood had a 4 hour power outage a few nights ago. Mind you we live where hurricanes come and go and we hardly ever get power outages. But this was weird. A four hour power outage out of nowhere like that? We felt so hopeless. All the neighbors came out with their flash lights wondering what the heck is going on? End of the world? Murder hornets? Man, I felt hopeless. The only thing I had for a light during the outage was a little pocket sized micro streamlight flashlight. That little flash light stayed on during the whole outage. So Im getting prepared for the next one. So after countless reviews I decided to get this SIEGE and I can already tell it will brighten up the whole house during an outage. How long will the batteries last? IDK yet... but Ive always been a fan of streamlight anyways, for flashlights and other tactical options. Jeffrey Epstein didnt kill himself. I also will be buying a power bank and a radio for my next purchase. So Ill be looking at reviews for those kinda items. BE PREPARED!
