I bought this light based on a YT review. It does seem to be rugged and of good size and the buttons are better than most. It does have a nice flood light feature that is brighter than I thought it was going to be but the actual flash light part is not as bright as a small three cell AAA light that I have. I will keep it because I like the size and I think the brightness will be good enough. Just dont expect a supper bright light if you buy one of these.

I was in the market for a simple and reliable general purpose flashlight. One with a straightforward on and off switch (not one with a half dozen modes), and one that is tough and water proof. This light more than fits the bill. It’s really two flashlights in one. The spot beam allows for momentary on, with a light press of the switch, or constant on, with a firm click of the switch. The flood beam is click on only, and is perfect for working up close, when you want wide and even coverage. With the reputation of Streamlight, toughness and reliability is a given. The flashlight is mostly sleek, and as advertised, the clip doesn’t snag. I say “mostly” sleek, because the eyelet/lug at the lens cap (which is designed as part of the locking mechanism for a different model) could potentially snag. I wish they would have eliminated it on this model since it serves no purpose. The flashlight is comfortable to hold, easy to operate (no multi modes), light weight, and at 7 inches long it’s small enough to easily fit in a glovebox, drawer, or coat pocket. The spot beam is sufficient for most general purpose uses. I was under the house the other day and the spot beam provided practical useable light out to about 25 feet (probably a bit beyond, but that’s the length of the space I was working in), the flood beam offer significantly less useful distance (maybe 8 ft). I was so impressed with the first flashlight, that I ordered five more. Ive replaced all the flashlights in my house and vehicles. I then ordered two additional flashlights to give as gifts. And, will likely order more for gifts in the future. There are cheaper flashlights on the market, but I’m a firm believer in, You get what you pay for. When the time comes that I need a flashlight, I want to know I have a flashlight that will work. And, with Energizer AA Lithium Batteries (which I purchased separately on Amazon), this flashlight is going to be ready and reliable even if it sits idle for 19 years (the lithium batteries boast a 20 year shelf life). Update Aug 2022: Im still very happy with these lights! Combined with the lithiums Ive not had to replace any of the batteries. I use them every so often, as one might expect. Ive referred these lights to several friends who have then purchased one or two. Hey, Streamlight - do you need an ambassador? Ill be happy to entertain an offer.

Its expensive for a flashlight, but when you want to light an area this is a good one to choose. Im in a dirt road, wooded area, and when I walk my dogs at night I want to be able to scan all around me for bears, coyotes, and other animals. This flashlight projects a very good distance and allows me to see all that is around me when I 360-scope the area. I feel much safer having it. The extra light that shines on the ground is nice, but the distance and brightness of the basic flashlight make it worth the price. I dont know how long the batteries will last but thats a cheap cost to replace. So far its been 2 weeks and the light hasnt dimmed at all.

I wanted a good water proof flashlight that uses common batteries & just turns on and off. No cycling through useless strobe and power settings. I didnt want a tactical machined aircraft aluminum survival fantasy light that I could show off to my friends and make myself feel more like a man. Im happy with my choice. This is simple powerful light from a reputable manufacturer.

Best flashlight I have ever owned. Worth every penny. This has to be thw absolutely brightest flashlight Ive ever had. Love that it has the extra light on the bottom for when walking in the dark, makes it easy to see what is infront of you and what is at your feet at the same time. We use it mainly for camping because of how bright it is, however my husband has another one just like it for work.

The plastic this is made from feels less tough then my Stream light 4AA flash light. That said, the LED lights are better for travel as I do not worry about a xenon bulb burning out. Who can find a replacement in the middle of Montana? I did have occasion to use the clip for hands free viewing, this worked well but I have some reservations of the durability of the clip. The unit is longer, but lighter then my 4AA pro-ploymer flashlight which I have used for work for over 20 years. Stream light products are well made and the customer service is excellent.

I have several of these now. Bright and wide beam with central core. The lantern feature is great as and area lamp, but can be used to illuminate your path as you use the main beam. No silly features like strobes or multiple brightnesses - just push the button. Also seem to be built like a tank.

It is much brighter than my regular flashlights, so I was concerned about its battery life on AAs. However we recently spent hours working on electric in the basement with the power off and are still on the first set of batteries. The clip feature is also nice. I do need to get used to feeling the difference in the sides of this flashlight before turning it on in the dark. I have shined it in my eyes a few times, but the dual light feature is nice without the operator error! It also comes on very reliably, no shaking it around to get a connection like with some of my other flashlights.

No dislikes. I like that its intrinsically safe, water resistant and dies not roll when you lay it down. Also like the built in clip that can be used if you want and is not in the way if you want to just stuff it in your pocket not using the clip.

Really nice unit. Like having a side light opposite the clip without the need for a right angle.
