Radio is great, but for $300 + you would think they would include the programing cable. The Stryker website says it is included with the 955.

Brand new out of the box pictures shows all the corners on the black casing chipped away. Are these supposed to come with a clear protective film on the case i wonder? Either way seems to work alright, just make sure you connect it to the battery directly else you wont get those posted wattage figures i believe. Edit : 6/5/17. The frequency dial selector when turning clockwise misses channel selecting sometimes. Meaning when I turn the frequency knob dial to say channel 21 for example from channel 20 , the dial knob clicks but the channel remains still set on channel 20. EDIT. 8/10/17 Bought another one, this is one has white powder residue under the LCD panel, poor QC.

The product itself is great. However, it was delivered in the CB box. It would have been nice if it was hidden inside another box for discretion, as it is left on a porch. Delivery time actually came a day early. Thank you.

It is what it is.. so. exactly what is it.. Well, its a fancy, high powered CB. Yes it says 10 Meter Amateur Mobile Transceiver on it, but, on truly designed for the ham community has Roger Beep, Channels, Talk Back, and a Clarifier. another way to know its actually -designed- to be modified to work on 11 meters.. the surface mount diode that needs to be removed.. has a freakin ARROW POINTING TO IT!. .I mean duhh.. (that being said, unless youre quite adept with a small soldering iron, and / or willing to throw it in the trash if you mess up, because if you do this.. it does void the warranty.. completely, so dont go crying to the Stryker or your dealer for something you screwed up. Now. all that being said.. and knowing what it actually is.. and what it actually not. aka.. being honest. This is a great radio. dont dork with it. dont try to tune it up.. it is well designed and does, what it does.. great. If you want 11 meters.. have someone thats good, remove the diode or resister or whatever the heck it is.. orrr.. if you have any hesitancy at all. go to the Stryker Club facebook group, look up the dealers that Stryker lists as a registered dealer. or.. proceed at your own risk. I see no reason to even change mics. the stock one is quite good. Ive got a Stryker, a Galaxy, couple of Cobras, as well as Ham gear (Alinco, bunch of Yeasus, Kenwood) and while this is not a Ham rig.. its not meant to be, ,but. it does what it does. .very darn well. Buy it, Use it, Dont try to tune it and youll be happy. Treat it like any piece of well designed and executed gear.. (unless you just like burning up rigs)

I have been the Stryker radio for several weeks in my vehicle and have been very impressed with the functionality and quality of the radio. The stock microphone is paired very well to the radio; however, you will achieve even better audio quality if a quality dynamic mic is used with the radio. I have received very good reports on the audio while using an Astatic 636L microphone with the radio ($60 at any Pilot or Loves truck stop). The radio is also paired with a Wilson 1000 magnet mount on my setup which is also an excellent mobile antenna. The radio has a large and effective heat sink (cooling fins) on the back of the radio that sticks out a bit...so be sure to check your mounting space / clearances before performing an install. Software to customize the radio is available for download at the Stryker website. The software allows customization of frequencies assigned to channels in each band as well as customization of roger beeps and radio operating parameters. (6) roger beeps may be programmed and individually assigned to individual channels. Especially nice is the ability to set operating ranges for voltage, max SWR, and max key down time...all of which serve to protect the (4) MOSFET output transistors from damage. Finally, there are few radios that look as SWEET as the Stryker SR-955HPC. There is a fairly large signal meter to the left of the face plate and the back-lighting on the face plate looks amazing...especially at night. There are several YouTube videos out there on this radio as well as other reviews, so check those out. Buy with confidence, this is a rock-solid transceiver and you wont be disappointed if you purchase one.

JB Tools in this case has Poor to non-existent Packaging. The first and second radio came in the retale box with no bubble wrap or padding. The first Stryker 955 came non working, it would not turn on, the fast replacement by Amazon came the same way from JB Tools but in this case it powered on, I will add to this review after I get it on an antenna. If it preforms like most reviews I will be very happy. Edit : I am very happy with this radio, Amazon was fast and helpful. I will be buying more in the future.

Price was good. No sound on radio. Very poor customer service with returning and refund. 3rd party vendor that charges for return shipping using USPS. VERY slow in obtaining a refund and then hit with a 20% restocking fee (Not mentioned in the return instructions) after many calls to Amazon CS. Amazon refunded my shipping and the restocking fee. Been a prime member for many years. Thank you Amazon for great service. This vendor? Sucks.
