Greater than one weekI have been using Sulky Solvy for almost a year to make great Shabby Chic scarves, and it holds together many layers of fibers - fabric, yarn, angelina fibers... you name it! Once I have it all stitched up, the stabilizer rinses out, leaving a great-looking scarf. This size is perfect for the project, as I like to make the scarves about 6 inches wide... I lay out my fibers on one half, then fold the other half over and pin in place. I understand you can also press together using a pressing cloth, but I havent tried that yet.

> 3 dayI had never worked with a fabric stabilizer before, but I wanted to floss embroider names onto fleece blankets, and someone suggested getting a water soluble stabilizer. So what I did was type the name in the size and font that I wanted on Word, printed it out, laid the clear stabilizer over it, and traced the names with a plain old black marker. So easy to write on it, and I gave it a few seconds to dry and didnt have any smudges. After that, I laid the stabilizer on top of the fleece (the right-side out) so the stitches wouldnt sink and get lost in the fleece. I embroidered the names and little characters, washed it, and it turned out great! I am very pleased with this product, and there is so much of it. Great buy!

> 3 dayThe idea is good, but this material isnt quite as usable as it sounds. Pattern transfer and placement on the fabric works well. And the film dissolves very easily after work is finished, but this also makes the product useless in warm weather or higher humidity - The moment your fingers start to sweat a little or there is too much moisture in the air, the Solvy starts to disintegrate, so every time a needle is pushed through from below, it does not pass through the film, but pushes it up in a gooey, stretchy tent. Eventually the film rips and sticks to the needle in small globs. I guess, I will do my summer embroidery in the fridge...

> 3 dayThis product is very thin. I purchased for a free standing lace project; I had to use 6 layers because the needle kept ripping the stabilizer. Might be good as a top layer.

> 3 dayI am a new user of embroidery machines. This stabilizer is the best made for the top of embroidering. I cut the holder at the bottom of the container, and place it near the front of the drawer. I then drape the stabilizer over the side of a drawer and it is there at your connivance to just pull and snip just the size that you want. It is reasonable and fast fast service so when you are low you will be surprised of the speedy delivery. Cost is great also.

> 3 dayUse this Sulky Solvy Water Soluble stabilizer whenever you are machine embroidering anything with a nap, like towels, fleece, etc. The solvy holds the nap down while the machine embroiders so there is not poke thorough of fabric while embroidering. If you have a baste-in-the-hoop function on your embroidery machine, you should baste this down on top of your hooped fabric and stabilizer. If you are embroidering stand alone lace designs, you will want to hoop at least two layers, depending on the density of your design. Most of the time the extra stabilizer just pulls away from the stitches when you are done. I would recommend removing as much excess stabilizer as you can before washing your finished product. It is easy to use, and is a light film. When washed it is completely gone from your embroidery. Every machine embroidery owner needs a good water soluble stabilizer and Sulky has one here.
