I liked that by having a swing away hinge, it added another 1 to width of doorway to accommodate a regular sized wheelchair without having to cut out the doorway , incurring construction mess and cost. I dislike, very much, that when door is open, it leave about a 4 gap between door jam and door - very unattractive.

I needed to open a four door setup over my laundry closet so all doors were outside of the opening. Ive known about swing clear hinges before, but was put off by the price of this specialty item. Found this hinge and its companion regular butt hinges in a matching size and finish here online. After installing them on the doors and into the opening I am very pleased with the result. Exactly what I had envisioned!

This hinge allows the door to be flush with the doorway frame in order a walker or small wheelchair can enter the room. Did not have to widen the doorway.

These are absolute wonders if you have someone that ends up in a wheelchair and cant get thru the doorways due to the door, which was my situation when I got home from a double above knee amputation. I couldnt get into my bedroom door :( so it had to come off the hinges :(

I needed these to widen the open area to get my husbands wheelchair through the door. My son put on one set on very easy. It fit well. Tried getting the wheelchair through and it gave enough room to get it through very easy. So ordered 3 more sets and they worked wonderful. Since my son had already put in one it was very easy to get the other 3 sets on in less than an hour and a half. It makes getting through the doorways with husbands wheelchair so much easier. With him having Alzheimers and Parkinsons everything that would help makes my life easier since I am also his caregiver is wonderful.

Really works when you get it in.

I put them o; the door and was then unable to open the door very far. Big disappointment.
