> 24 hourForget the stories of it being intrusive. It simply doesnt work and the company simply doesnt care. Two days of kids running the TV and the device shows ZERO power usage! I would say this goes beyond inaccurate. So I write to customer service their FAQ states. Two days later, I get an answer that they will pass it along to the tech team for further assistance. How many days will that be? I can answer for me... none. Its being boxed up now for return. ***Update. They wrote back finally a few days after offering to send a replacement for free. It took weeks but I got it and so far, this one works actually. I will follow up and raise it more if it is working after a week or two. They made me wait, so they can too.

> 24 hourThis product was pretty easy to setup and install. I havent had issues with it disconnecting either. I had heard good things about switchbot and decided to give them a try but wow I really did not like the app. I have many other smart switches that use the Smart life app or the Tuya app that I was wanting to replace because these from switchbot have energy monitoring. Well Having to download another app + having to sign up for an account was pretty annoying. I signed up for an account without being given a choice and then starting running into problems with the app. Needless to say all the annoyances quickly outweighed the benefits for me. The SmartLife plugs are often smaller or the same size with dual plugs. These from switchbot are just too big, and with a mediocre user experience, even for the price. 33 stars, I wish I could like these but Ill be staying with my cheaper, smaller, and easier to use smart plugs.

> 24 hourThese are a great way to find out what your bigger power wasters are in your house and/or have a controllable power switch. I only gave it 3 stars for ease of use because I had to contact customer support to find out how to delete the power usage history when I want to move the switch to a different plug/device. Plot twist: you cant. However, if you hold the button for about 20 seconds it will completely reset the SwitchBot. Then you just delete and re-add it in the app.

> 24 hourWarning this will be a run-on sentence So the switchbot software you download from Play Store requires you to sign up with them giving your email address so they can confirm it then you have to agree to being tracked by location its completely ludacris switchbot needs to know your location your software your phone your everything if youre okay with this go for it And also study the picture of the device for receptacles it protrudes from the wall about an inch and then when you plug a cord in to that it protrudes about another inch and a half so youre sticking out from the wall about two-and-a-half 3 inches...... great you cant put it behind anything yeah stupid design at least if youre going to steal everybodys information put the plug on the side huh then you have to go and find the Bluetooth device and and enroll it by pushing a button on the device itself the software cant find it on its own then you have to enter it into your Wi-Fi so you have to give your password for your router This is where I stopped the process uninstalled it and got rid of it like I said they do not make clear on the instructions that you cant just use it straight up Bluetooth this software is extremely intrusive and takes up half of a gigabyte of storage?.? seems more than a little a little sketch to me Returned it ..............definitely

> 24 hourAs always, with Switch-Bot devices, the setup was very easy. I am now able to control most any kind of device and monitor the energy (amps & watts) used by that device at the moment and over time. I was also able to use the Switch-Bot API to integrate this Mini Plug into my home automation system so it can turn things on when other conditions are met an I can collect the usage data to chart usage over time. This device is more affordable than many of the other remote control devices used in my system.

> 24 hourHavent used switchbot products before and this is my first foray into them. Ive been wanting to supplement my VESYNC/Etekcity smartplug for a long time ... teseted some Tuya/Smartlife plugs that I found a little basic compared to my Vesync one. Finally decided to get these switchbot ones since they were rated for 15A. So far, Im not too impressed with the plug. It has been going into overload protection with the dehumidifier that I have plugged in drawing ~675 watts and 5.5amps. Initially, I thought it was a fluke and powered the plug back on. But, it did it again 3 times over the course of last night. My vesync and tuya plug, neither one did this and they have overload protection as well. My thinking is that these plugs are all made in China anyway, why is the sb one so sensitive (Ive had my dehumidifier running on the vesync for over 2 months without issue).

> 24 hourIve owned 49 of these SwitchBot plugs since they were released just over a month ago. I also own dozens of plugs from various manufacturers, like TP-Link, Sonoff, BN-Link, Emporia, etc. These plugs are, by far, my favorite. I have one plugged into just about every outlet in my house, where reasonable. Heres some of my key highlights that differentiate these plugs from all the junk online: - The build quality is outstanding. There are no seams or otherwise weird manufacturing quirks on any of my plugs. While aesthetics of a smart plug arent particularly important, I wouldnt be comfortable trusting a no-name brand plug with a poor exterior to have safe internals. SwitchBot really surprised me with the quality as soon as I picked up my first plug, and I was happy to find no defects on any of my 50. - They work cloud-free, if necessary. Many of the plugs on Amazon rely on their proprietary app and proprietary online API, rendering the plugs entirely useless if their company no longer supports them. After setting up these plugs, they continue to work without internet directly over Bluetooth, with few functional compromises. Although most smart plugs on the market are currently ESP based (which is an IoT Bluetooth/WiFi module), many of them only utilize the WiFi features after setup. SwitchBot ensured the longevity of their product by allowing it to work in-app over Bluetooth. - Theyre accurate out of the box. In my lab, I was able to measure each plugs reported metrics with a calibrated test load and against a calibrated power meter. I found the device itself to consume 0.6-0.9 W on average, and measure the calibrated load accurately down to a tenth of a Watt. Extremely good quality, considering some plugs off Amazon measure 5-10 watts off, out of the box. Some stuff for the advanced users: these work great with Tasmota, allowing you to utilize Home Assistant / whatever setup your smart home already uses, finetune the calibration, disable the toggle button, disable the bluetooth, etc. All in all, SwitchBot took the existing smart plug market and designed a plug that outperforms the competitors at a price point that blows them out of the water. They work amazingly out of the box and can also be better tweaked with third party software like Tasmota.

> 24 hourSuper disappointed that I couldn’t get this to work. Tried pairing it about 20 times before I gave up.
