I have 4 betta fish tanks, so I go through a lot of filters. I thought this would be cheaper and easier. They work great....I just dont like how the clamp on top comes off sometimes. And it can be a little messy. If you dont mind putting them together and want to save money this would be great for you. I personally just like the ones that are already assembled so I will be going back to those once these are used up.
