05-06-2025This thing is amazing, I cannot say enough good things about it. As an aspiring engineer, its important to be able to check the accuracy of my calculations, and this calculator does it all. Theres a bit if a learning curve but thankfully plenty of resources on the internet to figure out what you need to in order to execute certain functions.

> 3 dayI regret getting the TI-Nspire CX II CAS for my high schooler because his Algebra II teacher uses the TI-84 in class to demonstrate how to do problems. He can’t follow along on his calculator as it is set up differently, so has to borrow one in class. Teacher suggested he may want the TI-84 so he can practice with it at home.. She mentioned the Nspire can’t be used in the SATs. The TI product page indicates it can’t be used in the ACT exams.

Greater than one weekThis is a massive step up from my TI-84. I had been using them my whole life and my school recommended it. Im going off the college and decided to splurge on a nice, new calculator and this one was great. CAS system saves me from my awful algebra mistakes and I can easily verify my calculus. The ability to also write simply Python code is lovely as well. Highly recommend if youre in the market for your next calculator, but there is a learning curve fyi.

> 3 dayThe best part of this buy is the desktop software. It makes it easy to write programs and do graph. Easy to learn. At first one needs to get use to the keypad. The rest comes with practice.

> 3 dayI’m a senior citizen who received a large portion of my education before calculators were invented. It was all slide rules and tables of logarithms. This device is utterly amazing. Texas Instruments in Australia have produced many useful YouTube videos that collectively demonstrate everything the calculator does. It will take a lot of practice to become proficient but that’s the fun part.

Greater than one weekIm a mathematics guy. I love math. So I bought this calculator thinking that I would be able to write my own programs on it (I have moderate knowledge of programming languages), and be able to play around with this. It is without a shadow of a doubt the hardest calculator Ive ever used. Why cant I graph 3d in the graphing function?!? Why do I need to exit out of it and open a file, then add a graph, then select a 3d one?! Why cant I just hit the graphing function, select 3d, and be on my way? Why does it take numerous button presses and a lot of digging to find out how to switch between radians and degree?! Thats quite honestly the most common setting change, and its near impossible to find! Furthermore, I couldnt get the thing to register with my computer! It just wouldnt connect. I tried contacting their support (Amazons tech support and Ti directly) and both of them gave me instructions for the Ti84 plus! I had to return the calculator because of this. Look. If youre taking a calculus class. Stick with either a Ti36 pro (personal favorite), or if allowed, a Ti84 plus. If youre taking a higher than calculus class, or are a working professional, then be aware that this calculator has a massive learning curve to it. Just be aware of what youre getting.

> 3 dayI had to get this calculator for one of my engineering classes and it is amazing. It easily does pages of algebra in a second. And has great features for taking notes.

> 3 dayThis calculator is great for graphing and other appliances, but it is not that easy to learn to use all its functions. I still have not learned all of them. The packaging was good, however the calculator did not come with a charging box, just the cable. Overall great calculator and do recommend buying if you are taking high level courses in math.
