> 3 dayLove this calculator. If you happen to run into a funny error where the center button (track pad/ arrow keys are all one button), try restarting it (just off and on didnt work). Press DOC, ENTER, and EE, then click the reset button in the back with a pencil. Very fiddly to hold all 4 without a third hand, but I was able to hold it upright between my chin and my desk to have my hands available for the buttons. This fixed it immediately. Took me a while to find this fix online, and if the reset doesnt fix it, supposedly its a hardware issue, not software. Happy calculating everyone!

> 3 dayThe only thing that I do not care for is the Graphics interface for displaying Calculus derivatives. I can not find anything very tutorial that will allow me to enter a family of equations required for (for example) the spring-mass system or pendulum equations with damping and resistance. I am probably just not doing it right but I can not figure out what I am doing wrong and I have bought and read all 3 books relating to the TI-Nspire. none deal with second-order families of derivatives.

> 3 dayFirst, it arrived quickly and in very good condition. Besides the manufacturers package (with the manuals and an USB cable) it was also sent in a bigger box with plastic airbags, so it was very good protected. Regarding the calculators performance, so far very good. I used to have the first nspire CAS, and this one is faster from the beggining, it boots faster than the old one. I got this one as replacement for the old one (I had an accident with a cup of coffee) and I will test it further in the next days but so far very happy.

> 3 dayI use this for AP Calc, and it is extremely useful. Because it is CAS, it has so many functions and can really help with homework if you know how to use it well. The battery life is a bit questionable however, as for mine, it goes down and up by 25% intervals. The battery only lasts a couple of hours for me, but that could be normal?

> 3 dayA handy tool for college maths and stats.

> 3 dayThis calculator is very capable of all sorts of math (specifically the CAS version). If you are a student and your class allows this calculator, it takes much of the leg work out of math.

> 3 dayAwesome calculator will do just about anything you throw at it. Interface is ok, on par with other TIs. Its just a matter of finding out how to do something. The main menu is a little awkward. Need a touch screen as the curser is archaic. Need 2nd entry shortcut. Great once you get used to it, but why not make it more intuitive. Dont know of a better calculator...

08-06-2025Im an adult engineering professional, not a student. Really like the CAS system that solves, simplifies, factors, expands, etc. algebraic expressions. No need to convert systems of equations to matrices. No worrying about silly mistakes in algebra. I really like that expressions can be variables, makes substitution super easy. Im coming from a TI-82 (it still works!) so I felt fairly comfortable, but still had to watch a few YouTube videos to get the gist of documents and an overview of the features. Read the manuals, watch videos, google, etc and the fun and power slowly reveals itself. I installed the software, calculator comes with a license but you have to download from TIs site. Used the software to upgrade the firmware to latest version no problem, transfer files to and from calculator, and the software emulates the calculator so you can use your computer for editing, screen sharing, etc. All very cool. Build seems solid, though not as rugged feeling as my old TI-82 which is built like a tank and survived many drops and abuse. Bought a padded case for this one, which I dont think is needed for the older models.

> 3 dayIt has really saved me when it comes to class but the learning curve for some of the advanced functions is steep.

Greater than one weekCant ever go wrong with a TI-Nspire. Ive used the normal TI-Nspire CX at school during all my 4 years in high school, so Ive become fairly comfortable with operating it. But, I felt it was time for an upgrade, so I chose this, and Ive got to say, best investment ever. As an engineering college student, this calculator really helps save time. With its CAS, solving integrals and taking complicated derivatives couldnt have been any easier. The buttons (arguably), in my opinion, feel very nice to click and make a satisfying clicking sound, which I like (compared to the normal CX). It has functions from solving systems, to analyzing statistical data, and you can even program your own functions using TI-Basic. All in all, this is definitely a must-buy for any college student taking high level engineering classes. One thing to note is that this (and many other CAS calculators), are not allowed on AP math exams. Also, as Im sure youve heard. graphing calculators are not allowed in lower college math classes either (ex: Cal 1, Cal 2, or even Cal 3). It is, however, allowed on the SAT and upper-level engineering/science courses in college, at least in my experience.
