> 3 dayI so much wanted this dimmer to work with my LED string patio lights. I didnt even care if the Alexa integration worked or not...I just wanted a manual dimmer. After I plugged the string lights into the unit, I pressed the button to turn them on and everything seemed to work. The dimming range was very limited but acceptable. The problem I had was that the wall outlet I have to use for the string lights is on the same circuit as some can lights that are operated by a wall switch, which also has a dimmer. I found out that turning on the wall switch not only turns on the can lights that are directly connected to it, it also turns on the string lights that are plugged into the wall outlet. By the way, the wall outlet is definitely not connected to the can light switch. Both outlets on the duplex wall outlet are hot all the time regardless of the on-off position of the wall switch; they are merely on the same breaker circuit from by power panel. So, I took the Treatlife dimmer out of the connection so the string lights were plugged directly into the wall outlet. With that configuration, the can light switch has no effect on the string lights. I have to plug the string lights in to turn them on and unplug them to turn them off...or course I cant dim them but they work as expected. I then plugged the Treatlife dimmer back into the wall outlet and plugged the string lights into the Treatlife dimmer. Back to the problem of the can light wall switch turning on the string lights. Even worse, when I use the can light dimmer to dim the can lights, the Treatlife dimmer responds by quickly pulsing the string lights from off to on, off to on, etc. This problem seems bizarre to me but I dont have any option but to return the unit and look for a different dimmer for the string lights. Maybe this problem is unique to me because of my wiring configuration but you may have the same problem if you use other dimmers on the same circuit breaker. UPDATE: April 9, 2021 - Treatlife immediately responded to my review by offering to send me a newer version of the dimmer at no charge to see if it will work in my circuit. Im hopeful it will but think the company deserves five stars for excellent customer support. UPDATE: April 12, 2021 - Treatlife sent the new dimmer via expedited shipping, which deserves five stars for customer support. However, the “updated” dimmer was the exact same model I initially received. The replacement dimmer did not solve my problem. Other dimmer switches on the same breaker circuit that do not control the duplex outlet I am using for the Treatlife dimmer still turn the Treatlife dimmer on/off and dim and pulse the lights connected to the Treatlife dimmer. So, my initial caution still applies...be careful if you plan to use this dimmer on a circuit that has other dimmer switches.

Greater than one weekThis is second one I bought. First is 3 or 4 years old and dimmable with incandescent lights and I think with some led, but not ones I bought. Works great with Alexa To turn on/off or if you set up a routine. . Makes Christmas decorating easy too.

> 3 dayThis was so easy to set up with Alexa, I love being able to dim the patio string lights when I want just a little glow of light.

> 3 dayMy outdoor fountain flow rate was strictly a manual and difficult operation. While this dimmer is made for lights, I can tell you that it works great to control the flow rate using my phone, instead of digging in the rocks for the valve.

> 3 dayFantastic dimmer and fantastic customer service. Very easy to set up and works like a charm -- all from my phone. Love their 2 year warranty and how responsive they were when I contacted them. Less than a week, there was a replacement on its way to me. Cant ask for more than that. Highly recommend this dimmer and buy again. Now I wish I had upgraded to the new version which provides two plug ports (sigh).

> 3 dayI was dubious about loading yet another app but it was fairly simple to setup and use. I can still operate manually as well. The ability to set on/off and dim setting schedules is great and will buy more of these for other applications as I think of them. I have a mesh router so connectivity is no problem.

> 3 dayBought this for my classroom set of string lights after reading a review by another teacher. The app used by the dimmer switch is compatible with Alexa, which is a cool feature. It was a bit tricky to set up as you must use a 3G network to connect to the app... and our school does not have that option. Took it home and was able to switch my phone to our 3G network, then find the dimmer switch through the app and connect it. Once that was done, the switch worked at school just fine wirelessly with my phone no matter which network I used. Initially had some trouble getting it connected to the app and contacted their support team, who was very responsive and helpful. All in all, the steps are fairly easy to follow but for anyone who is relatively unfamiliar with connecting wireless devices that are incompatible with 5G networks, it may end up feeling frustrating. I can just picture my parents losing their minds trying to figure out what in the world to do. The app coincidentally connected with my daughters LED lights so now she can use Alexa to turn them off and on...something Id not really thought to take time to do beforehand.

19-04-2025We installed some string lights on our patio a while back, which we love, but since we also sometimes use the patio for an outdoor movie theater the lights were always a bit too bright. We had searched for a wall switch dimmer but the one that we would have needed for our setup would have been extremely expensive, and would not work for our incandescent lights. The Treatlive Outdoor Dimmer was our solution! It made it extremely easy to use as we didnt have to change out the wall switch inside our home, just plug it into the outlet and the lights into that, and you are ready to go! Since it is weatherproof it makes it nice as it is outside at all times ( as the outlet is near the roofline, it is not easy to remove ). Now we can easily dim the lights for the movies or turn them up to full brightness when we need the area well lit. It is great! The Treatlife app was simple to download and install and had it working in just a few minutes. We connected it to our Alexa devices so we can now just say Turn on the Patio Lights and it works! The dimming feature works really well with these lights as it does dim them very low if needed. We can now enjoy our patio lights...and the movies at the same time! We would highly recommend

> 3 dayThe smart feature stopped working after about 10 months. After trying to reinstall, it wouldnt connect with the app. In the end, the vendor replaced the unit with a new one.

> 3 dayI bought this dimmer 2+ years ago. I moved houses and changed routers, and I think I messed with it so much it got stuck thinking it was connected to a wrong WiFi address and had some trouble resetting it. After contacting customer support, they went out of there way to give me great directions, and after finding out something went wrong with the product, they stood by their product and helped me get a working one. They truly cared about me and my experience, the app works flawlessly to control everything, and instantly connected during setup. It does exactly what you think - provides a good app to smart control multiple strings of LED lights by turning them on, off, and with dimming levels.
