Had a blast using this tie dye kit with boys ranging in ages from 4-8!! We were able to make 4 youth tee shirts, 4 bandanas, and 2 adult tank tops with dye leftover. A few recommendations: 1. Wear Rubber gloves 2. Buy bulk white bandanas to use up extra dye if you don’t want any to go to waste 3. Plan ahead and launder the items you will dye the day before 4. The instructions say to machine wash each item individually after letting the dye set. In the interest of avoiding 10 loads of laundry with only one item in each, I thoroughly (and I mean THOROUGHLY) washed and rung out each item in a utility sink with hot water. I didn’t stop rinsing until the water coming out of the shirts was almost completely clear. Then I washed all of the freshly tie dyed items together in one load and had no problems. I did wash them on their own a few more times before adding with regular laundry 5. Don’t oversaturate! 6. If working with kids, do it outside if possible All of us loved this kit and the kids can’t wait to get another one and tie dye again!!

This kit is easy to use and ready to go. All you need is the shirt to tie dye. Colors are vibrant & dark too.

I loved this the dye kit and we had lots of fun using it! It was definitely easy to use, but some of the bottles would leak when you would shake it up to mix, which wasnt fun, luckily we shook them all in the sink and I was ready for it so I could try to direct the splatter. Not a deal breaker, but I wasnt in love with that part. It came with everything we needed including directions on how to tie the shirts for each effect. We tie dyed everything we could get our hands on, even some white turtle neck style face masks for the kids to make their masks personalized and fun :) the colors did fade more than I expected on the first wash, but not nearly as bad as rit dye or anything. They are still dark and bright! ( To be fair Im comparing to a brand I previously used, I cant remember the name, that didnt fade at ALL after washing, even after a few years) so this isnt the BEST out there, but its a very close runner up, price was great, and we had a super fun family day doing this together, that ran into the next day when we got to unwrap them and see our creations. I accidentally bought two, and instead of returning the second, Im keeping it for a rainy day with the kids :) I do highly recommend.

Pigment was very bright. I knocked a star off because one of the colors had exploded in the box and it was all over EVERYTHING causing pink splotches randomly, the reds and oranges didn’t dissolve as well as the blues, and our green was actually a teal. There was more that we had dyed though and we had fun. We bought a bunch of shirts from Burlington and TJ Maxx to spruce them up a bit. Over all even with pink all over the place, this is probably the best kit I’ve used.

This kit was so easy to use! I got it for Easter to get creative in quarantine with the family. No one else had tie dyed before this except for myself. It was so fun to see everyone get into it and this kit made it super easy to facilitate a low stress & low mess activity! All the colors included are gorgeous—we were so impressed with the color selection and vibrancy. I wanted to note that after rinsing the items on day 2, we laid the shirts out to dry in the hot Texas sun (unintentionally because it took minutes lol). Then, we did an extra step of heat setting the items by ironing them before sticking everything in the wash. I think it really helped set the dye prior to first wash & resist color bleed. Note, Blue based colors seems to have the most bleed so be sure to rinse them extra well! We loved it so much, we may make this a family tradition every Easter!

I bought 2 of these for a sleepover party of 6 six year old girls. I knew it would be messy so we set it up in the driveway and the kids LOVED it! It took a little time to set up (fill the bottles with water), but I liked the squirt bottles. The gloves are a bit useless, but half the fun is getting dyed yourself. The dye requires a good bit of saturation to get the desired effects, but overall I recommend. I also did not need to even open the second box I bought.
