> 3 dayThis is my first purchase of tax software, Have used professional tax prep for 25 years because of being self employed and not understanding all the necessary forms. My Professional screwed up my 2008 return resulting in several hundred dollars owed in back taxes and penalties. As my business is winding down I did my taxes myself in 2009, so far so good. This year Amazon had the Turbtax version that suited my needs on sale so I tried it. Very easy to use, since I had been filling out an extensive workbook for years for my professional tax preparer gathering my tax data was not any different for the Turbo Tax. Much easier than the manual method ( downloading all the forms, trying to understand the information required) the Turbo Tax walks you through the process. My only complaint was the $19.99 fee to efile the state tax form. This was probably noted somewhere but I missed it until I was ready to file. Well have to see how it all comes out, but it was easy, and hopefully accurate. I will be using it again next year.

> 3 dayEach year the software gets better. I have been using TurboTax for decades. I know there are other tax software packages, but I dont want to learn a new one.

04-06-2025My second year using this product. It is very easy to use, very intuitive, you can have it interview you or if you have decent tax knowledge you can navigate thru it yourself. I like the automatic downloading of your W2, 1009 data from its partners like ADP. The e-file is also easy and reliable, and if you use it in successive years it automatically accesses last years information and populates common fields and allows you to edit them if you wish. Well worth the money.

> 3 dayIve used TurboTax quite a few times over the years, then tried two expensive accountants for a few years, and came back to TurboTax for 2010. I noticed potential bugs with self-employment health insurance and car depreciation that I had to go onto a forum to get some info about, which was a hassle, but otherwise the program is pretty easy to use. I must say, I do wonder if I am getting all my deductions but I guess thats the risk I take by spending $79 instead of $1500 with my old accountant. (My accountant really is the one who caused me to come back to TurboTax by giving my referrals to him a much better deal to do their taxes than he was giving me. Bad business.)

> 3 dayAfter working as a contractor in three states in the course of one year, the tax collector from each state came calling. With TurboTax doing the various state taxes - and the federal taxes - was a snap. The federal people were easier to deal with than the state collectors, but TurboTax took care of everything. Worth every penny. Turns what could be a nightmare into an interesting task. It also helps determine the lowest taxes due.

> 3 dayThis is my first try using a tax preparation program. Everyone I know raves about how wonderful Turbo Tax is. After years of doing my taxes by hand and mailing in the return, I felt that maybe it would be less of a trial to use a program that would at least do the math for me, and I could file electronically and avoid the post office. I even had some amazon gift cards to cover the cost, so I got Turbo Tax. To be honest, I think it took me just as long to do my taxes with the program as it would have taken by hand. The electronic filing was nice, but having to pay $19.95 extra to file the state return was an unpleasant surprise. I noticed some glitches in the program. For instance, I noticed on a summary sheet that I had to pay a penalty due to slight underpayment of estimated tax. I was pretty sure this was wrong. I had to fiddle with the program to get it to actually ask me for the numbers to check this. It then said I did not owe the penalty. I had a problem with Virginia adjustments to federal AGI that took forever to figure out. Isnt the point of using this software to avoid such issues? I really found it tedious to go through all sections in the program to enter data. Couldnt they simplify this? The whole process is so divorced from the actual forms that is left me wondering if I would end up with a correct return - I think it was OK, but I did have to look through all the Turbo Tax forms created to feel this way. People who have not done taxes by hand probably would not be bothered with this issue though. All in all, I think I got my taxes done OK, but it cost me almost $100 including the state e file, and I am still a little nervous that there could be a problem hidden in innumerable forms generated. I am not sure if I will use this program next year.

> 3 dayI have used TurboTax for many years and find it the easiest and most user friendly. Ive tried some of the other leading tax software and for me, found it less intuitive to use, but I admit, that could be because of my familiarity with TurboTax. Either way, I am very pleased and will continue to use TurboTax for my 2011 taxes.

> 3 dayProduct is Great. I would give it a 5 if not for price. I started out with the product years ago when it was a low cost option. While it is not so inexpensive these days, it is still my choice.

> 3 dayIve used TurboTax for over 25 years. This year they seems to have changed their business model with respect to the ability to do a state tax return. As stated in the product description and printed on the box, one (1) state software download is included. In past years, this one state software download would process more than one state tax return within that state. However this year, when actually using the product, it will only allow you to process a single tax return for that state. In the past, I have always done my own and my kids returns - both Federal and State (all in the same state). I first processed my own Federal and State returns. When I proceeded to do my kids returns, I could process all three Federal returns without a hitch. In order to process their State returns (all in the same state as my own), it demanded another state download for each kids return at a cost of $39.95 each. They have apparently changed their business model; and this is just not right! Im very disappointed!
