The quality of this is really good.. far better than the ARLO2 Pro cameras and Ring HD cameras. That said, the night vision is not that great. Truth be told I dont have a light that turns on to help either, nor did I expect night vision to be of much use. The motion detection is wonky. It works.. maybe too good. Most mornings I wake up to over 100 emails of motion detection, due to wind and a plant that sometimes ends up in frame. I even set up custom zones, but it seems to ignore those. That is more likely the software though, not the camera, as the motion detection zones is controlled by the software itself, not hardware in the camera.

I was able to get this to work with little effort on my DVR software for Mac, Security Spy. Basically you have to set a computer to the same IP range 192.168.1.X and then you will be able to pick up the default IP of .20 for the camera and login with the default bunt bunt user-pass. MAKE SURE TO CHANGE DEFAULT PASSWORDS and USERNAMES EVEN WHEN POSSIBLE. I know, that is common sense, but I still hear of/know that people dont. After that, setup is easy, you need to place in Stand Alone mode his the first gotcha, then you can change the user pass. The next is that you need to allow it to see the internet and then firewall it off. Blocking internet prevents bad things. Seriously, do you need to see your cameras remotely? Or do you just wanna? Safer not to have that opening that can be somehow exploited.

Great picture quality, best user experience bar none. Sadly no object recognition yet!

For the price I expected so much more. The software for the camera was pretty decent except it only uses their cameras. The image quality compared to some other cameras such as the Reolink 5MPs was pretty disappointing as the camera was so much more in cost. Ubiquiti does a great job with WiFi products in the wow factor but they missed the mark with their cameras.

Having been converted over to Ubiquiti networking gear for my own home use (an ER-4 and NanoHD AP), I had wanted to upgrade my basic WYZE wifi only cameras to a wired solution. But Ubiquiti has a ways to go in the practicality it seems. First off, the design of this unit makes it obvious it is a pan/tilt model, which is exactly what I need in one location. BUT, is it MANUAL adjust only! That really needs to be made more obvious on the product literature, website, and box. Second, NO POE adapter in the box??? I 100% expected one to come with it as the Unifi APs come with them. This now adds on $15 minimum to the cost of any of the model cams to buy one separately. Something also not mentioned in the website or product box. (or one can get a couple hundred $ to get a POE switch, assuming they are able to connected the cams to one switch location). Cost of the FLEX is ridiculous considering what WYZE cam sells! $80 for a non motorized pan/tilt model. My WYZE cam Pan cost $30 and does it all things the Flex can do for features in software, even a few more...all integrated. You have to have the Unifi Video server/controller software running on a computer to mange and record/stream the feeds. I had issues getting the controller software to connect to the Ubiquiti cloud, kept giving errors then cant find...learned that it supports ONLY Google Chrome and u have to install a plugin for it to find the controller. (Ubquiti does make a standalone DVR, called the NVR, but the HDMI and VGA ports are disabled, meaning it can not be used for live view, like one would think. ) One thing that bugs me, the option to toggle the Night Vision is buried a few pages and a few swipes into the settings on the mobile app. WYZE has that button right on the Live view page. I do find that i need to toggle this often as one room i have a cam, my livingroom, the light is a bit, odd, there, with the patio door and other light sources, and the cam sometimes gets stuck in Night mode when there is enough light to use Day mode. Or at times of the day, gets stuck in a loop of Auto changing modes. (any cam I have put in there does this) The IR Illumination is very very good with the FLEX. Much more powerful than any of the WYZE cams. The FLEX does has noticeably better video image quality though(far higher bitrate options too) compared to the WYZE. The physical size/design of the Flex is a tad smaller than WYZE PAN. The pan is a slim brick, while the FLEX is a small tube. It runs HOT. Quite warm to the touch. IR Thermometer read 104F. The white flashy white design of the cams make them useless for any kind of in-conspicuous or blend-in type of positioning for me. Wish they made a matte black option. There cams are meant to be seen. The mounting system option on the Flex is confusing and not as simple and practical as the stick up magnet mount the WYZE cams have built right in. I can mount a WYZE cam anywhere, this Flex and the G3, is greatly limited due to its huge physical size and weight. For Basic home cam needs, WYZE gets it on the cheap and with very good results. Surprisingly so. A big social community forum site is there full of average folks who share ideas and capture on cam vids etc. Ubiquiti, well, their community is full of advanced network admins and geeks. The Unifi cams and ecosystem is focused on advanced users and for enterprise deployments etc. Unifi is good to use if you already have their network equipment and have appropriate locations and setup to mount and position the cams and run cable to them. It is an upgrade in the video/audio quality, but downgrade in practicality, features, and cost.

I just have mine temped in at the moment in my office. For my application, Im waiting for the optional ceiling mount to arrive. The motion detection is good. The video is very clear. The night vision illumination is good to 10-12 feet, with some detail lost beyond that distance. I havent tried the two way audio yet. The Unifi Protect software and app work great, notifying me if there is movement in the cameras software adjustable motion zone(s) and storing the video on the Cloud Key Gen 2 Plus.

They are inexpensive but for the price you are getting a good camera. Night vision is good, motion detection and excellent. Ive only had 1 go bad and it was replaced under warranty.
