Love these AP. They have a great range, easy to deploy on your network and once configure you can just forget them. They just work!

I bought this to replace an old Trendnet AP that while did work, was no-longer considered viable after the company stopped putting out firmware updates. Also - I reviewed many models of AP for my home - I was going to use a Wifi router - but ultimately chose not to as it conflicted with the router I already use. Mostly I wanted to improve my connection and the ability to upgrade to multiple APs without having lots of issues made this the best choice. Is this the best you can get AP? idk - I honestly do not have the funds to buy multiple AP devices and test them. Is this going to solve my issues with some signal loss only 2 rooms away? yes it already has, I have 1 extra bar of signal and not seen any signal drops in the room furthest away from AP. (3bd 2bath home single floor) I even see slightly increased speed tho that could just be my perception as I know the limiting factor is my ISP. I have not speed tested yet - cause Wifi is is only used by my friend mostly for her Laptop - I use it for the phones internet connection but my main PCs are hardwired gigabit speed. only other item I would use it for is netflix on tablet PC and im sure its perfectly suited as my previous device was ok - but it was showing its age and had some signal issues, hence the upgrade. Many people have tossed around the expert label - I dont classify myself as an expert - though I do know enough about wifi / networking and etc - I have a degree in computer networking and have for years been doing IT / computer networking stuff. I dont know it all - infact there is plenty I could still learn, however to learn more costs money in terms of books / software / hardware and stuff - but I can hold my own with most home / small buisness networking needs (even some larger networks) only thing I dont like is cloud based stuff.. I would defiantly buy again - and fully intend to add more Ubiquity items to my future networking plans - its a bit overkill for a small home network - but its far cheaper then say the uber gaming ready 300 dollar Wifi/router devices Ive seen. More so since I already have a very good wired router (small business class - with higher data throughput then most SoHo routers) and I have two switches behind that all at gigabit speeds.. so to go any faster would require fiber connections and I dont think my internal network is really needing that.. yet.

Small footprint as I can palm the AP and bend the tips of my fingers still. Easy setup for someone with some network or computer troubleshooting skills. Need to download the management software that is used to configure it before use, but the manager doesnt need to stay running 24/7 on the computer - only if you want to check stats, monitor, or change config. Port the software used by default had to be changed due to my computer already using it. Some short research online (5 min max - plenty of online information about Ubiquiti) on where it was located to change it. Ended up being a configuration text file within the program folder (Windows doesnt default the install location to Program Files.) Still havent touched 1/4 of the features it offers. Range covers my entire house plus my lot, total about 1/8th an acre, and most of the neighbors on either side all with strong signal bopping between 2/3 and 3/3 bars. Note: DOES NOT work with the IEEE PoE or PoE+ standard based switches. Need the pro model for that. Either need to use Ubiquitis included power injector, or their brand of PoEswitch or router with Passive 24v PoE. The single pack retail APs include the power injector. The multipacks dont. Im using the power injector currently but hope to buy one of their routers in the near future.

This replaced an unreliable router/WAP to provide Wifi coverage in a portion of my home not covered adequately by my Uverse gateways WAP. Once installed and configured it has performed without interruption or incident, a huge win for us. Could not be happier.

I have installed a lot of these Unifi things. Easy when you use the controller. Handles a lot of clients compared to D-Link or TP-Link devices. Lots of solid options for config of network variables. Best suited for knowledgeable network people but if you read and understand is ok for a home setup person. Would buy again and like UAP-AC-LITE.

I recently set two of these up with an edgerouter lite. By far the best wireless solution ive used. Easy to setup and easy to add more after the fact.
