Greater than one weekI bought this for my 3300 sq. ft. house to replace a Buffalo N300 router that I was using as just an AP, and its a perfect solution! With inexpensive consumer grade APs you typically have to create 2 different SSIDs for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz support, but this this AP a single SSID can run both and as your device enters/exits the 5Ghz range, the switch to 2.4 is seamless. For best results, refer to the radiation map so you can decide how to mount the AP (Ubiquitis forums have this info). I have mine sitting on the floor in a corner on my first floor, and I get a great 2.4Ghz signal in the opposite side of the house on the second floor and basement. I may deploy additional APs in the future so I can get 5Ghz coverage in more areas of the house. For now I get a great 5Ghz signal when Im in the same room as the AP. As many others have pointed out, you do need to know some basic networking and you do need Ubiquitis UniFi Controller to setup the AP for the first time. Once its setup you dont *have* to use the controller, but if you choose to have one running full-time you can have it running on a Raspberry Pi. Getting the UniFi Controller setup is easy (on PC or on a Raspberry Pi) and getting the AP setup is also super easy. The tough part is playing around with positioning and tweaking settings for maximum performance (signal strength vs. throughput). If you want complete control over your wireless network and you dont mind putting the time into it, then this is definitely a good product to buy. Its definitely one of the most inexpensive ways to deploy a mesh network at home.

> 3 dayGreat product and price keeps getting better. Keep in mind it comes with a PoE injector, you can use your existing router (just turn off the wifi after you set it up. Your current wifi is very helpful if you use iOS or android apps). No need to install controller, for a small deployment iOS or android app is all you need.

> 3 dayFirst, I live abroad and I wasnt aware that the USA uses different frequency and therefore you get a notification on the management system. So far it doesnt interrupt the operation of the device. The price is much better than where I live

> 3 dayThis thing is remarkable!!! Home networking AP use, and it increased the wireless DL and UL speeds by 30mb compared to my verizon Fios (provider) wireless/router. At first I was worried about set up when reading about downloading the software on my PC. But then I learned about the Mobile App thats available now. It made this set up so easy. SO easy and fast, that I thought that I must have missed something, but i didnt. Its just that simple. Thanks for such a great product!!!!

> 3 dayI am using a single access point hooked up to a EdgeRouter X and it is working great, especially in comparison to the all in one units provided by ISPs, but overall the setup doesnt cost any more than an ISP router from the like of Centurylink or Comcast.
