Got it quickly and seems of good quality. Had it hooked up now for three weeks and honestly not that impressed so far but maybe the bb hasnt built up yet. My tank is no more clear than what hob was doing or my perimeters.

They are great! I have 2 in 90 gallons and would compare them to the big box name ones on the market! the best part is you do not need the air stone! so glad i bought 5 and will be a return buyer.

I was really surprised at the volume of water these moved for the price I was expecting something half the size

For the price, it is hard to complain. It is solidly built. It has enough weight to stay in place. yes it is large, but I like that about it. I bought a couple of these. I have used them in 10-55 gal tanks. In the smaller tank they are used with my fry so they have a place to hid and so they dont get sucked into the filter. I would have given 5 stars if the was a way to add an airstone to better aerate the bubbles. If you have a small tank and no top you may get some water mist splashing out. If you have a lid no problems. Ill buy again. Dont clean under tap water though. Nothing that will harm the filter, but the chlorinated water will kill the helpful bacteria that form in the sponge media. Clean the filter out in a bucket of tank water when you do a water change.

Much larger than I was expecting, which in the end is great! Very happy with the product. Surprised how under-rated this type of filtration is for aquariums. Performs soooo much better than HOB filters and is perfect for smaller tanks where you dont need a canister filter. Sure it takes a larger portion of the tank up but my fish and shrimp do much better with a number of available microorganisms that these foam filters make a great home for.

These arent super dense or anything, but they get the job done. Perfect for raising fry or just in general as a biological filter. If youre looking for something to filter out big particles and to supply your own media, you really cant beat an HOB or canister, but these keep the ammonia and nitrite levels waaay down. Cant really bet them for the price.

The inner chamber separates where you can put a charge of charcoal in the bottom half. The air tube goes straight to the bottom, so maximum air up-flow is achieved. Use the the most powerful air pump for maximum effect. Excellent design. Re-ordering!
