The filter works fine and keeps my fishbowl water nice and clear. The only problem I have had with it is that when you put it into your tank it expands to about twice the stated size and therefore takes up a lot of room in my small tank. It works great though so I do recommend it.

I wish the sponge part sat a bit higher on the base as many of my fish liked to sit under my differently designed hydrosponges. Still all in all Id buy it again if I couldnt get my hands on a hydrosponge of the right capacity when I needed to

Best sponge Ive used, it is huge but i use it along with a canister on my 40 and Ive had amazing results.

I got this filter for my fish tank 3 years ago. Still working great like the first day I got it. Clears up a 60 gallon tank in one day. Now I am getting a other one for a new tank. Beat any other filter I used in the past. And it save you a lot of money. Never had to buy filters again.

Day one and this filter is clearing up my 50 gallon tank nicely . Impressive. Plan on buying a second to decrease filter use.

These are great they really help you tank stay clear.

Listen. I realize sponge filters are simple and probably some of the best filtration out there, but this isnt a 40 gal sponge filter. Maybe 50-55 gallons, but definitely not 30-40 gal. Either the seller needs to figure out a better way to determine size or they need to clarify just how LARGE the large filter is.
