> 24 hourGreat monitor. Build quality is superb. Styling great. Picture quality is the best Ive ever seen. The 2K monitor is the way to go. This is the one. Love it. Ive used and owned many monitors. This is the best one yet.

> 24 hourI had an older 19 monitor and replaced it with this one; the picture/video quality is significantly better; screen rotation works great this model has a nice set of ports for connectivity.

> 24 hourUpdate: both monitors I purchased have started making quiet whistling noises, sounds similar to the noise made by an old hard drive when its seeking lots of data. This monitor has a super annoying feature where it changes the backlight brightness based on how much white is onscreen. This makes it impossible to set your brightness to a comfortable level. If you use dark mode apps like I do, you adjust your brightness so theyre readable. BUT, then if you open a light mode window, all of a sudden the monitor ramps up the brightness and its blindingly bright. Very stupid feature, very frustrating, defeats the whole point of setting the brightness. After a lot of digging through menus, I finally found a way to turn off the auto brightness. Its under Setup Menu -> ECO Mode. On a different topic, my macbook pro refuses to remember that this monitor is rotated, but that could be apples fault. Also, this monitor has a game mode which presumably runs faster, but it makes all the colors look washed out and ugly.

> 24 hourThere used to be a time when monitors were MUCH more expensive and thanks to the proliferation of options and increased technology, competitive prices have saved our wallets. But when it comes to selecting a monitor, the brand should also be taken into consideration because that is arguably the most important part of your computing process - you need to SEE what you are doing? ViewSonic has been around forever and its quality remains unchanged, and this monitor attests to the craftsmanship and value. The graphics are vivid and crisp, the construction of the monitor is sturdy, easy to assemble and set up - and being able to swivel the screen or flip it is what makes this SO AWESOME! This is a good monitor for your modest home office, an extra monitor for heavy-duty tasks where you need two screens, or even in my case where the screen on an old laptop is cracked and this has saved my work because I am now able to transfer it to another hard drive - I used the VGA output but there is also HDMI! Priced for holiday savings, this is a must have!

> 24 hourI purchased this as a second monitor and after a couple months I have had zero issues. Build quality is great, as well as the viewing angles for vertical usage. The trend with many companies is to produce these big monitors with small resolutions. This creates a visually disturbing pixel density that I personally find unpleasant (FHD@32=68.84 PPI vs WQHD@24=122.38 PPI). Its nice to see companies still producing normally-sized monitors with larger resolutions. The stability and mobility is great. Large swivel radius, tilt, and height adjustment for finding that sweet-spot. The handle for movement is a very nice addition. The only thing to be wary of is the fact that this monitor DOES NOT support refresh rates over 60hz at 2k resolution. But for some reason the product description has an eye-catching final bullet point of 75 hertz. (I wanted to take a star off for that shady advertising, but it really is a great monitor)

> 24 hourI performed so much research on these monitors, as I have some at work and wanted some for home office. Very confusing to research these as their model numbering is difficult. First, I really like these monitors, which is why I bought x2 for home (vg2755 1080). The daisy chaining is awesome, which comes to my 1 star rating. The xx55s dont allow you to! Absolute nonsense as VS markets the awesomeness of USB-C allowing you dock the monitors to each other (which these monitors are usb-c). You have to get at least x1 xx56 and then connect a second monitor such as the xx55. But wait, there is more! Not all xx56s let you!!! It looks like the 4k version does not, but the 2k does? and what of the size differences? I am sorry to give such a low score to something I like but that marketing needs to be far more truthful in what they are advertising.

> 24 hourDo not believe one of the top comments saying one needs only a USB 3.1 cable to display to this monitor. It is not true, the company has false advertising claiming compatibility with Macs, which is not the case without an adaptor. Third party adaptors most likely wont work either. One probably must purchase an Apple one and cough out $70 and utilize the adaptors HDMI to connect to this monitor as the usb-c connectivity of this monitor does not support thunderbolt, not allowing macs to display. The company representatives also wont offer any real help on the issue, rather referring you to Apple customer support, leaving you on your own.

> 24 hourI tried this out with two Macs, a 2018 MacBook Pro with USB C connectivity, and a 2015 MacBook Pro. I connected the ViewSonic using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable, using a Thunderbolt 3-USBC cable, and using an HDMI cable. Whichever cable was used, from whichever Mac, resulted in an identical HD picture and an instantaneous transition to two side-by-side windows that could be used from the Mac. The picture itself is larger than that of the MacBooks built-in video but not quite as bright or as crisp. Still, it makes for perfect watching from a distance - Netflix streaming - or for having an extra stretch of desktop for home-based office work. What I have not been able to make work is the audio. For both Macs, for any cable, I was at best able to get it so that low level volume comes through to the ViewSonics speakers but it is not menu-adjustable nor does it respond to the built-in volume control (though the mute setting works properly). This may be a problem on the MacOS side rather than on the ViewSonics side, The sound can easily be switched back to the Mac where it is controllable in the usual manner. There are a number of adjustments to the video that can be made from the ViewSonics built in menu-driven control structure. Input control to get where you need is reasonably intuitive. The angle and height of the monitor on the detachable stand is easily adjusted, and the unit can be used in portrait mode if desired (and thats really where this shines, since that makes review of long pdf files or Word documents a breeze). This is more of an expansion of the MacBook Pros built-in video for those who need more desktop space, rather than as a separate screen for watching movies or other streaming material. From that perspective, connectivity and operating functionality is all excellent. Now if I could get the audio to play nicely with my MBPs, Id be happier with alternative applications.

> 24 hourFor the price this monitor is a good value. Have had Viewsonic for years and this is the best of a mid-range monitor for general use and application development. Not a gamer so cant comment on use as a gaming monitor.

> 24 hourMy desk isnt very large so Id appreciate 24 monitors and this fits my desk quite well. The functionality, screen colors and ease of setup are all generally good enough.
