> 3 dayThis monitor has a nice screen and features and is fine for general use. As many have mentioned the stand is excellent. My biggest issue with this monitor is that it will only provide 30Hz through the USB-C port, which is not disclosed in the documentation, and that the power through that port is insufficient to power a Macbook pro 16 under moderate / heavy load, which I did expect, but it seems pretty lame. So if you want to play a game, youll need to plug in your power adapter and connect to the HDMI or other port to get 60Hz. I verified that one only gets 30Hz through the USB-c port on several computers including a Lenovo. Viewsonic support tried to help me with this but eventually gave up.

> 3 dayI am a developer so I write code, surf the web, deal with spreadsheets and text all day long with occasional Photoshop work. Im not a gamer at all so no comment on how this monitor performs for gaming. Im running Debian on an older Lenovo laptop (T430s) using a Display Port from the monitor to the Mini Display Port on the laptop. Let me say how happy I am with my purchase. This is a solid monitor with a thin bezel, beautiful picture, beautiful design all combined in a 24 package. The bezel and the stand are premium in terms of texture, design and durability. I prefer monitor stands that are square and non-glossy compared to those that are round and glossy. I know I know, to me, design and looks matter too. This monitor also has actual buttons. The buttons are firm in place and dont wiggle around. It also has a Text-mode setting that helps reading text easier. I appreciate the fact that ViewSonics logo on the front of the screen is black and not chrome or white so it doesnt jump at you. I thought that was a smart design choice by ViewSonic. The speakers on this monitor are above average. I dont have much expectation of built-in monitor speakers in general. I buy a monitor for its picture quality and resolution capabilities, first and foremost. Regardless, I dont have problems watching videos or listening to music. I used to have a 27 BenQ with 2560x1440p resolution. That monitor was amazing but it was too big for my desk and the text was a bit fuzzy. Im now running the same resolution on a 24 monitor with the same screen real estate and the text looks amazingly sharp. Note: A 27 1080p monitor does not necessarily give you more screen real estate over a 24 1080p. Its not the physical size of the monitor but rather the resolution of the monitor that will allow you to fit more windows on your screen. It took me 3 monitors to figure this out. Also note that the higher the resolution, the smaller the text. Basically sit back at an arms length from your monitor screen and find the resolution that youre comfortable with. Can you read text or surf the web without any eye strain? Then determine which monitor can produce that resolution at its best. Of course, other factors are involved here too such as your graphics card that you have to consider. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor for the price. Hope this helps people out there.

21-11-2024This is a just OK monitor....and not what I was hoping for in a ViewSonic. It has a dark pixel segment in the upper left corner...about 1/2 x 1/2. The quality is not what I remembered from their monitors, and I would not recommend it to others.

Greater than one weekUpdate: both monitors I purchased have started making quiet whistling noises, sounds similar to the noise made by an old hard drive when its seeking lots of data. This monitor has a super annoying feature where it changes the backlight brightness based on how much white is onscreen. This makes it impossible to set your brightness to a comfortable level. If you use dark mode apps like I do, you adjust your brightness so theyre readable. BUT, then if you open a light mode window, all of a sudden the monitor ramps up the brightness and its blindingly bright. Very stupid feature, very frustrating, defeats the whole point of setting the brightness. After a lot of digging through menus, I finally found a way to turn off the auto brightness. Its under Setup Menu -> ECO Mode. On a different topic, my macbook pro refuses to remember that this monitor is rotated, but that could be apples fault. Also, this monitor has a game mode which presumably runs faster, but it makes all the colors look washed out and ugly.

> 3 dayI love that I can manipulate this monitor in so many different ways. It is completely flexible and free to move around. It was extremely easy to set up as part of an extended screen setup with a docking station. I like that I can adjust the monitor settings so easily. Very good investment.

> 3 dayOther reviews talk about the picture and the lack of a USB-C cable. They have heard and now include a 10Gb/s 1m long cable which works fine. The built-in speaker sound quality is not as good a the build-in late model MacBook Pro laptop, but is ok. The USB-C cable allows for the monitor to be almost be a docking station. After a month of our family using 2 of these monitors, Ive raised it to 5-stars.

> 3 dayFor the price this monitor is a good value. Have had Viewsonic for years and this is the best of a mid-range monitor for general use and application development. Not a gamer so cant comment on use as a gaming monitor.

> 3 dayThis is a great monitor for 2019 macbook pro. Besides the pros that other reviewers mentioned. I like to point out 3 pros It comes with a usb type c cable so no need to buy a separate usb type c cable. It has a strong sturdy base which prevent easy tip over. The power provided by the monitor is able to charge my 2019 macbook pro 15
