Greater than one weekI purchased this monitor after a similarly-configured Lenovo monitor bricked on me only a couple months out of warranty. This ViewSonic isnt quite the looker as the Lenovo, but its ergonomically superior in some respects, and I think the screen is brighter and has better viewing angles. I also like the arrangement of the USB ports for extra peripherals just behind the screen on the users left hand side as theyre easier to access. My one complaint is about the user interface. On the front of the monitor on the lower bezel is the power button, a button that allows you to switch viewing modes, and four other menu buttons. Those four other menu buttons pull up a unified menu but serve other functions once the menu is activated (one for up, one for down, one to select, and one to exit). That all makes sense, of course, but, for the way I work, a one-button option for switching inputs would be far, far more useful than a one-button solution to switch viewing modes. Im a grown man with no time for games - this monitor is for my work. But I have two computers - my work and my personal. Ive literally never, in over a year, needed to change color/brightness settings via the viewing mode button. But I do switch inputs multiple times a day, so, having just one button to press to quickly switch inputs would make far more sense.

Greater than one weekSuper happy with this monitor. USB C video and sound work perfectly with no additional software needed. Wonky controls can be frustrating at first but once you figure them out it is easy. Amazing value for the money.

> 3 dayI love that I can manipulate this monitor in so many different ways. It is completely flexible and free to move around. It was extremely easy to set up as part of an extended screen setup with a docking station. I like that I can adjust the monitor settings so easily. Very good investment.

> 3 dayThis monitor has a nice screen and features and is fine for general use. As many have mentioned the stand is excellent. My biggest issue with this monitor is that it will only provide 30Hz through the USB-C port, which is not disclosed in the documentation, and that the power through that port is insufficient to power a Macbook pro 16 under moderate / heavy load, which I did expect, but it seems pretty lame. So if you want to play a game, youll need to plug in your power adapter and connect to the HDMI or other port to get 60Hz. I verified that one only gets 30Hz through the USB-c port on several computers including a Lenovo. Viewsonic support tried to help me with this but eventually gave up.

> 3 dayI have a 13 Macbook Pro from 2016. With just the included USB C cable (monitor to computer) and the included power cable (wall to monitor), you can power the monitor, keep the computer charged, and plug your peripherals into the monitor directly. Those peripherals receive power (e.g. charging a usb power bank) and also can talk to your computer (e.g. a USB webcam) if needed. I was searching for a while for a monitor that supports 2K resolutions (the most this Macbook Pro can pump out), charging the computer over the data cable, and transmits the USB signal from peripherals downstream to the computer. This does all of it! Super happy with this purchase and it comes at a great cost.

> 3 dayI’m a software engineer by trade, and these monitors are absolutely incredible. 1440p resolution and the option to turn them portrait mode are must-haves for me now. I have two with a DisplayLink dock in a work-from-home setup and it’s better than any hardware we had in the office.

11-06-2025I performed so much research on these monitors, as I have some at work and wanted some for home office. Very confusing to research these as their model numbering is difficult. First, I really like these monitors, which is why I bought x2 for home (vg2755 1080). The daisy chaining is awesome, which comes to my 1 star rating. The xx55s dont allow you to! Absolute nonsense as VS markets the awesomeness of USB-C allowing you dock the monitors to each other (which these monitors are usb-c). You have to get at least x1 xx56 and then connect a second monitor such as the xx55. But wait, there is more! Not all xx56s let you!!! It looks like the 4k version does not, but the 2k does? and what of the size differences? I am sorry to give such a low score to something I like but that marketing needs to be far more truthful in what they are advertising.

> 3 dayNice monitor. Easy to setup. Picture quality is great. The sound is ok. I would probably add some extra speakers. Overall a really good monitor. I like the size of the screen.

> 3 dayIm really enjoying this monitor. It has fantastic picture quality. It has a beautiful facade with a nice and thin borders. The adjustable hight and angle is very useful. However, the built-in speakers are quite terrible. I replaced my external speakers when this monitor arrived, which was a mistake. Now I rely on headsets and my laptops speakers. For comparison, my MBPs built-in speakers are much better.
