> 3 day1. For full disclosure, I use my mac (macbook pro and mac mini) with their native applications 99.95% of the time. Once in a very very blue moon, I have to utilize a windows application and thus thought this product might be helpful. Main point, Im not an expert in this arena. With that being said, setting up / installation was fairly benign and without getting into the nitty gritty, the product does what its supposed to do--> one is able to open up / work on / deal with windows based applications without a hitch. I wasnt doing any cpu intensive applications and thus perhaps there might be a performance decrement, but this worked well with macbook pro. Definitely a worthwhile product to have for those occasional or regular situations when one needs to utilize a windows application the mac. Well done.

> 3 dayThis helps bring the stability of the OSX with the universality of windows. I like it. It is clean and straightforward...without too much fluff.

> 3 dayVMware Fusion 4 easily beats out Parallels. It is far less resource intensive and does not lag my system (MacBook Air 2.13 4GB machine). It is a bit slow when it comes to Windows 7 but is still much faster than the barely usable Parallels. Easier cloning of VM instances would be nice but I cant complain. This makes browser and OS testing very easy. Windows XP, Windows 7, and Ubuntu all installed quickly and without any problems. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayI need to use Visio and Access on my MAC, and fusion is a better solution than buy a PC. The version 4 is optimized for Lion, and it looks like use less resources than the previous version, it runs Windows 7 without limitation, and I believe it is faster and I can keep open on a desktop meanwhile working on another, without any problem of memory.

> 3 dayGreat software that allows me to run Windows and other Intel based OS’s on my Mac. It runs as a Virtual Machine, so no rebooting necessary. It came with the installer on a flash drive, which was great. Setting up my first VM was easy - the software walked me through the process and I had a Windows VM in no time. Performance is good enough for my needs - Windows is responsive. Integration with the Mac is fine - meets my needs. The user interface for Fusion is clean and well-designed, with all options in reach while not being cluttered. In all I’m very happy with it.

> 3 dayIn rating these two products, my opinions are based on Experience with Installation, configuration, migration, and conversion on a new iMAC running Lion OS (16 gig RAM) and BOTH Software packages.

> 3 dayFor years I have had to work with folks who demanded that their employees use Windoz. Thanks to VMware, I was able to run Windows XP on my Mac, as well as Ubuntu. I successfully used security devices and my Mac to gain access to an all-Windoz network, including getting into storage servers as just another Microsoft-based employee. This is an excellent way to avoiding the purchase of specialized hardware when you need to run another operating system. I especially liked the ability to click and drag files from one desktop to another, such as from my Mac desktop to my Windows XP desktop, which allowed me to create documents in the Mac environment, using Mac tools, then save as a .doc file and drag it over to XP to share with other XP users. Great software.

Greater than one weekI have had no problems running VMWare Fusion 4 with a Windows 98 and various Linux installations. But...Im not happy about the fact that it requires a paid upgrade only a year later in order to maintain compatibility with Mountain Lion. I was happy using VirtualBox for virtualization prior to VMWare, and will be going back to that stable, reliable and free Open Source solution (available from Oracle).

> 3 dayIncludes a USB drive in case you dont have an optical drive. Installation went smoothly, and allows use of Windows with no problems to date.
