VMware Fusion 4 [Old Version]

> 3 dayI was a very happy user of Fusion 3, but, have found VMWare Fusion 4 to be not as reliable or robust as version 3 was. Since upgrading, Ive had problems with my mouse cursor disappearing, as well as getting into a mode where my Mac-side Apps wont launch properly. The only thing that seems to fix this is closing Fusion and rebooting the host Mac. The problem is most likely to occur if Im doing other processor-or-disk-intensive work while booting a VM. (Which can take a while for Windows OSs.) I did not have these problems with Fusion 3.

Greater than one weekThe best product to use on a MAC. Been a customer since it came out with no problems. My business computers all have this software.

Greater than one weekI have been using VM Ware Fusion for several years now and like its smooth installation and performance. Operating systems such as Windows XP, Win 7, Linux, have each installed smoothly the first time. Would recommend.

> 3 day1. For full disclosure, I use my mac (macbook pro and mac mini) with their native applications 99.95% of the time. Once in a very very blue moon, I have to utilize a windows application and thus thought this product might be helpful. Main point, Im not an expert in this arena. With that being said, setting up / installation was fairly benign and without getting into the nitty gritty, the product does what its supposed to do--> one is able to open up / work on / deal with windows based applications without a hitch. I wasnt doing any cpu intensive applications and thus perhaps there might be a performance decrement, but this worked well with macbook pro. Definitely a worthwhile product to have for those occasional or regular situations when one needs to utilize a windows application the mac. Well done.

Greater than one weekThis software is junk! Ive spent hours trying to get it to work, and contacted support after two failed migration attempts. Support has been slow and unhelpful to date. Im left with a wast of time and money.

> 3 dayFusion 4 works well, as has been stated in numerous other reviews. And overall I like it. But I do find it annoying on some levels.

> 3 dayFor years I have had to work with folks who demanded that their employees use Windoz. Thanks to VMware, I was able to run Windows XP on my Mac, as well as Ubuntu. I successfully used security devices and my Mac to gain access to an all-Windoz network, including getting into storage servers as just another Microsoft-based employee. This is an excellent way to avoiding the purchase of specialized hardware when you need to run another operating system. I especially liked the ability to click and drag files from one desktop to another, such as from my Mac desktop to my Windows XP desktop, which allowed me to create documents in the Mac environment, using Mac tools, then save as a .doc file and drag it over to XP to share with other XP users. Great software.

> 3 dayThis helps bring the stability of the OSX with the universality of windows. I like it. It is clean and straightforward...without too much fluff.

> 3 dayIf you want to experiment with Linux, GNU, etc. Ran WinXP, Win7, Ubuntu, the performance is good, I have not tried gaming. I guess you could do Boot Camp to get better performance if needed. I need to run windows mainly because I didnt want to purchase Quicken Mac.
