> 3 dayI purchased my pair of Vortex binoculars after using them on a hunting and birding trip in South Africa, having personally previously owned Nikon, Bushnell, Tasco, I was absolutely floored by the clarity. I should probably mention that I use a Vortex Rifle Scope now too...

Leider.

Fake name real review
Greater than one weekVortex makes decent stuff. But what really makes them stand above the competition is their vip warranty. I have a lot of their optics and a few binoculars from them. I cant say that I think the glass on the 8x28 is better than the 12x50 crossfire hd binos or my 10x42 Diamondbacks. They have bigger objectives and therefore pull in more light and give a better image, despite being a lower quality model. The 8x28 are small, light, and easy to pack on a hike. Im glad I bought them.

24-11-2024I bought this to replace a 1990 Bausch & Lomb Birder Elite 8x42 set of binocs that could not be repaired. Id not heard of Vortex as a brand of binoculars until I asked my associates online for their favorite brands & models. This one, and the Athlon, were mentioned. I bought both in 8x42 to compare, and loved them both, AND kept them both! The Athlon has a slightly thicker feel than the Vortex, and is more comfortable in my male hands. The Vortex is slightly thinner, feels like a more petite feel, and my wife immediately glommed onto them--she loves them. Both do a fine job of having great eye relief (we both wear glasses), a wide field of view (making it easier to find the birds), and quick-focus of bright optics. The Athlons optics are slightly brighter than the Vortex, making the Athlon image feel slightly more true than the Vortex. The Vortex focuses closer at 5.5, versus the Athlons 7. Not a big deal unless youre doing a lot of butterfly or insect identification right at your feet. Im very happy with both, and would happily buy them again at need. I have no problem recommending either.
