A peer told me about the lever nuts. Ive tried both the ideal and Wago in a side by side usage. The Wago 5 port is the cats meow when wiring metal 2-gang boxes with pass thru, two duplex oulets, and bonded ground. The two and three port Ideal work perfectly fine, but the Wago is slimer and in shallow boxes that is critical. Prices are comparable, but my local supply only stocks Ideal. So wago looses in the accessibility for short notice jobs. So, stock up!!

I have used the 222 series in the past and they were great. The 221 series is even better. 1. The biggest difference maker in these 221 series vs. the 222 series is the fact that they are clear, so you can quickly and easily be 100% certain of a correctly secured conductor. 2. The reduced sized of these 221 series make life that much less difficult. There never seems to be enough space to cram your wiring where it needs to go, so smaller is definitely better in this case, and like the 222s you dont really need to worry about you connections getting accidentally disconnected while you finagle things into place. 3. Even though a lot of the fixtures Ive used lever nuts on have the ends of the stranded wires tinned out of the box, sometimes you end up with that stranded conductor to work with, these things make stranded wiring a non-issue. 4. These 221 series have a broader lever, sometimes on the old 222 styles it would get harder to get them open as the day goes on and youve opened a hundred or so up already. I have never cared for traditional wire nuts, it is very easy (and common) for them to be poorly utilized by the lazy or inexperienced person, and these make them all but obsolete in my opinion.

Simplistically brilliant in its design and function; so much better than wire nuts. Just use the guide on the side to measure the length you need to strip. Insert and close. That simple. Buy with confidence, and beware of imitators (theres a lot out there). If you find this helpful, please click the button below. Thank you.

I was always hesitant to try out Wagos due to the price, but after trying them, they live up to the hype. They are so easy to use compared to wire nuts. Just lift the lever, insert to conductor, then close. So easy! No twisting wires or making sure you have the correct wire nut size. One size basically fits all. They are a little more expensive compared to wire nuts, but the ease and convenience really make up for it. 10/10 would buy again for future projects.

To think…how many wire nuts have I smashed into boxes over the years. These thing would have added years to my life in reduced stress.

I recently re-wired an ApriAire humidifier that was not properly installed by an HVAC tech using traditional wire nuts. The 3 wire Wago Lever-Nuts allowed me to quickly connect two existing 10 gauge wires and a 22 gauge multi-strand wire. Ive since used the 221 Lever-Nuts to replace two outlets and a switch. Wago Lever-Nuts are more expensive than normal wire nuts, but the ease of installation and solid connection every time is worth it to this Do It Yourselfer.

I have used the In Sure type wire connectors in my house with solid wires to great effect, and attempted to use them on the 12V wiring in my RV. For thicker wires, they would work somewhat, but with the thinner gauge wires they were useless. These wire connectors are perfect for use with braided wires, regardless of gauge (within their specification range). I would tape the levers before putting them behind the wall just to make sure they dont vibrate open while the RV is in motion, but aside from that they were perfect for the use that I had.

I just used these connectors to rewire a 240 volt heat treating oven. Theyre much easier to use than screw terminals, much more secure than wire nuts, and have the capacity in terms of voltage and amperage that I needed. They work much better in tight spaces. And the fact that you can join solid and stranded wire easily and securely makes them very valuable.
