> 3 dayThe best portable drive on the market. After 30+ years of servicing computers for a living - and 14 years of doing data recovery in the Dallas, Texas area, the only brand of hard drive I use / sell is Western Digital. They have the best performance and reliability. Period. While these pre-built mobile drives are not the high end of the WD range, they are reliable and reasonably priced. You can only do better if you buy the Black drives and put them in your own enclosure, which is a lot more expensive.

> 3 dayI had to give up my old computer for a new one and get all my data transferred over. I needed a little help since I hadnt restored from My Passport before. A Western Digital tech really helped me out. Now I believe I have the confidence to do it myself next time and feel comfortable about it, so I bought a new one to back up my new computer. I highly recommend My Passport as an external backup.

Greater than one weekI love it! I use it for my PS4 and the added storage is great! Put 4 large memory games on this thing (The Witcher, Uncharted 4, Batman: Arkham Knight, Final Fantasy 15) and The YouTube app, which surprisingly took up a ton of space on my PS4 this and it didnt even get half way on the memory! This external hard drive is great and was easy to install. Best purchase I have mafe in a long while.

> 3 dayIm hooked on Western Digital. I have several WD drives and all of them still work. Two of my drives are over ten years old. A co-worker once lamented to me that his WD external drive stopped working. After some questioning, he admitted that he accidentally dropped it on the floor. I thought thats like blaming the glass for breaking and spilling wine on the floor when you let it slip through your fingers. Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you.

> 3 dayI have several 1 terr USB 3.0 so I thought I would save a few bucks and get a warehouse return. There was a good reason it was returned in the first place. Not sure Amazon checks them when returned. Basically DOA. Would not do a long format. Tried to move a large 260 gig file and it sat for an hour. Then it would not reformat and stalled my computer until I unplugged it. Returned it and instead got a new non-refurbished and it is loading a 760 gig folder with no problem. I do pretty good on warehouse items but will avoid returned electronics in the future.

> 3 dayIm not really sure how to review a product like this. I needed portable disconnectable storage for a project and bought this drive. When I plugged it into my computer, it connected right up and worked perfectly. The case did not get hot; a good sign as heat is often the Achilles heel for small portable drives. Assuming it doesnt fail me down the road, Im very happy with this purchase.

> 3 dayI managed to get this unit operating with the excellent help from Amazon. There is NO documentation with the unit and only by going online and downloading a user manual was I able to get started. I then found a user manual self-loads during installation. If anyone without a magnifying glass can read the print on the 4 pages of mini printed paperwork with this unit (in every language in the world) they will still not find the documentation needed. Product appears to be working well and backed up our system fine. However, the instructions for settings come from the Windows software and have to be accessed through your own Start functions as there is no way I was able to access them through the installation procedure. Good product (I hope). POOR documentation or lack of it.

> 3 dayUnless you are archiving movies and/or other MB consumptive data, a Terabyte is a vast amount of space. To make it portable, and the size of my smartphone is nothing short of astonishing to this old schooler who started off on a Timex Sinclair. Ill use this to store my data during a change of operating systems, selectively restore some, scrub the rest and use for backup from then on.

> 3 dayI bought this back in 2018 didnt even use but maybe a couple of times - it sat around for years and then thought yeah Im going to move all my vids and pics to it. Well it doesnt work. It will not initialize, computer doesnt recognize it. Do a search on the web for My Passport has fatal error - there is no help other then to say try a different computer of coarse by a new cable did that and some other check disk stuff, no way around it. There is no way out of this error. Wasted Money.

Greater than one weekHave had a WD Passport in the past, and needed an additional one so went with the product I trusted. Thought the new build was very sleek. Purchased it, came with wonderfully designed packaging and promptly on time. But, upon plugging it into the computer the hard drive would not launch. Tried multiple product fixes on their site but nothing worked. Googled a lot and ended up finding out my brand new drive must be corrupt. Contacted the company and havent heard anything back yet. Used to love this brand, but now frustrated. UPDATE--- Contacted the company and they took me step by step through how to fix this issue. Very helpful and kind, and did without a fuss. Love this company.
