> 3 dayReceived this item on time and in excellent condition, thanks to the way the manufacturer packaged it. Use it for my primary backup for new Dell XPS-8910 tower computer using Windows 10 Home edition. It is located on top of the pc and connects to one of the USB 3.0 ports on the front of the pc through about a 10 inch long USB cable that comes with the unit. Installation, settings/user preferences, and online registration of the unit was flawless, quick and easy. I have it set to perform a backup of my C: drive every hour, and it does the job in a timely manner on the hour. I have run all the diagnostic tests that the device is equipped with, and all have passed. The extended test that checks the entire 2TB drive took a little over 6 hours to check. I have not had to test the actual backup function yet. I also have an earlier model of this drive on a different, older computer since 2014, and it has served me well so far.

> 3 dayVery easy set up, and works very well. Only reason Im not 5 stars is the drive seems slower than I expected. Quality and appearance is really good, but a bit faster would be nice. I use this drive every day, and Im typically using an SSD, so my view of speed may be a bit warped. Ive been using SSD for a long time so my expectations for speed on a portable drive may be somewhat unrealistic. I definitely recommend this drive.

> 3 dayThe My Passport drive is a near useless device for me. The software accompanying the device cant detect itself as an external drive, so I am unable to set up any kind of a backup plan and I cannot set up password protection. I contacted Amazon tech support and they were unable to solve the problem. I also contacted Western Digital online, and their suggestions also failed to solve the problem. In their last email to me, they stated, We are working hard on compatibility with Windows 10. Windows 10 was released in 2015. You would think that Western Digital would have solved compatibility problems by now. Even though it is very cumbersome, Ive tried dragging and dropping my files to My Passport. Ive only been successful once. Every other time I attempt to drag and drop, it will only establish a link back to the file on my computers hard drive. Dont waste your money. Buy something else.

> 3 dayGreat external hard drive. I highly recommend this portable hard drive. it’s small and easy to carry yet has a lot of space with two tb, which is more than enough for my needs. It’s fast and loads quickly when connected to the computer unlike other hard drives I have bought.

> 3 dayUsing this as an external drive for my Xbox One. This will be the 3rd hard drive had purchased for my Xbox, not because of bad drives, but because of Xbox games being so large. The drive seems to be faster than the other two I had for the system. Very solid case, I love how it matches teh Xbox one two tone design as well.

> 3 dayPurchased to serve as my backup non-cloud system. Works great. The software that comes with it works great. Good value for the price point. I would purchase again.

> 3 dayThis passport is about 1-2 mm smaller than the 2017 version and obviously looks a bit different on the outside. Same quality as the 2017 version. Fits the Lacdo Waterproof Hard EVA case I bought for it quite well. It uses USB 3 and works best with a USB 3 connection. DO NOT USE WITH A USB HUB -- even a USB 3 hub! This drive draws all its power from your computer -- a power level too high for most hubs (learned this the hard way). Direct connection to your computer only, please! Flexible, easy to use. you will like this drive, especially if you travel.

> 3 dayStandard 2TB storage drive for a pretty good price. The WD software it comes with is totally optional; I reformatted the drive upon arrival. I havent used it for long enough for it to fail, but it seems that most HDDs by WD, Seagate, etc. are about the same in terms of reliability. The MyPassport is pretty slim, but not exactly pocket-sized (approx. 3.25 x 4.25 x 0.75 or 8 cm x 11 cm x 2 cm). Read/write speeds are average for a USB drive.

> 3 dayReceived the product but I couldnt get it working. After testing the drive with another cable from a previous MyPassport, I determined it was a bad cable (others have reported this as well). Currently waiting for WD to get these cables in inventory. They required a call back in 24 to 48 hours to see if they are in stock. I called for the 2nd time today and asked to wait another 24-48 hours and call back. I find it hard to believe they cannot place a request for the cable and send it when the stock is replenished rather than my continuing to call every few days.
