> 3 dayUsed it with my Xbox One S too beef up the storage since we all know that 500GB is not enough nowadays. After plugging the hard drive into my Xbox, you need to format it which takes about 5 seconds, and youre ready to go.

> 3 dayThis passport is about 1-2 mm smaller than the 2017 version and obviously looks a bit different on the outside. Same quality as the 2017 version. Fits the Lacdo Waterproof Hard EVA case I bought for it quite well. It uses USB 3 and works best with a USB 3 connection. DO NOT USE WITH A USB HUB -- even a USB 3 hub! This drive draws all its power from your computer -- a power level too high for most hubs (learned this the hard way). Direct connection to your computer only, please! Flexible, easy to use. you will like this drive, especially if you travel.

Greater than one weekVery easy set up, and works very well. Only reason Im not 5 stars is the drive seems slower than I expected. Quality and appearance is really good, but a bit faster would be nice. I use this drive every day, and Im typically using an SSD, so my view of speed may be a bit warped. Ive been using SSD for a long time so my expectations for speed on a portable drive may be somewhat unrealistic. I definitely recommend this drive.

> 3 dayI bought my PS4 a couple years ago, it came with only 500 GB hard drive. If you are really into gaming you know that isnt enough room. I decided to buy this hard drive with 2 TB, and now I have more than enough space to hold all my games. Especially since the majority of my games are digital copies, I really needed the extra space. It is super easy to set up, all you do is plug it in to the USB slot, go to devices, and set it up as an extended storage device. The process only takes a couple minutes and I transferred around 100 GB of games in 35 minutes. I would definitely recommend it.

> 3 dayStandard 2TB storage drive for a pretty good price. The WD software it comes with is totally optional; I reformatted the drive upon arrival. I havent used it for long enough for it to fail, but it seems that most HDDs by WD, Seagate, etc. are about the same in terms of reliability. The MyPassport is pretty slim, but not exactly pocket-sized (approx. 3.25 x 4.25 x 0.75 or 8 cm x 11 cm x 2 cm). Read/write speeds are average for a USB drive.

> 3 dayTerrible. It lasted only a couple of months without a problem. After putting 2-3 computer backups on it, I started having connectivity issues. The issues have gotten progressively worse in recent months. Now I receive error messages like, Not Accessible, Device not Ready, Destination Not Recognized to Exist, etc. So now I cant even transfer files to it. Also, most of the time now, it wont unmount from my computer. So I have to shut down my computer after each use in order to disconnect it safely. Ive used it on both Windows7 and Windows10. I own 3 different model WD drives. This one was a very big disappointment with how quickly it became inoperable. From examining other reviews, I saw that others have had similar issues. On the recommendation of one reviewer, I bought a WD Elements with a model year of 2015, just a few months after this one. (Amazon now has the WD Elements available with model year 2017). Anyway, the WD Elements works great. (A lot of the 1 star reviews are from MAC users, so read carefully.) And there isnt the WD Unlock extra step to go through either.

> 3 dayStrengths: - Plug and play mechanism, optional software is easy to use and useful. PC detected the external HD immediately with no problems whatsoever (using Windows 7 64-bit). - I like WDs straight to the point minimalist packaging and design. Weaknesses: - The glossy finish gets easily scratched. Additional comments: New design is slick in comparison to a WD My Passport from 2010, but this is a matter of taste. Anyways, a USB 3.0 cable is included but I did not capture a photograph of it.

Greater than one weekfirst experience with WD - it seems to be working ok now though the key for a backup drive is how is it working years later? One issue, i keep getting a message that the backup file is corrupted and asking if it should be deleted. Cant seem to find a fix. I may just reformat the whole thing and backup manually - not as convenient but i can at least access the files directly without having to restore. Had a Seagate before - it died after about 3-4 years --- seems a short life for a drive which is only accessed every hour or so and then for only a few seconds. The one in my computer is 8-years old, is accessed all the time, and still works! I probably ought to dig into the box and see what brand it is.

> 3 dayThe drive itself appears to be fine. But I bought this as a backup for my Windows OS 10 desktop, and the WB Backup software is unusable, and the docs are useless. I repeatedly got a There is not enough free space on the backup drive trying to back up when the Passport was brand new. And I only had 1TB to backup on this 2TB drive. When I googled the error message, I found this is a very common complaint. I tried the various fixes (reformat, repartition, reboot, reinstall, etc), but nothing worked. In the end I used the regular Windows backup utility, which worked fine. Obviously. Lesson learned (again) - dont trust software made by a hardware company. Id give this 0 stars for software, 5 stars (so far) for hardware, average is 2.5 stars, and Im rounding down for wasting my time.

> 3 dayUpdate as of 9/11/17: Got it less than 5 months ago. Today, I noticed that it had not backed up in 2 weeks. Tried Backup Now and nothing happened. Cant access Settings. Software no longer works so no longer backs up. Total junk. Dont waste your money on WD. Buy a Seagate. Had a Seagate drive for my Win 7 laptop and never had this problem in the 5 years I owned it. Easy to install. Problem is finding your stuff. Western Digital unnecessarily buries your files in a maze of subdirectories, the first of which is not at all intuitive, especially for non-geeks. When I first looked at the directory for this drive I thought, so where is my stuff? My old Seagate external drive shares this problem. Both companies need to realize their customers are all not computer geeks. Definitely not user friendly. My spouse would never be able to locate our files on this drive.
