    Greater than one week

My old back up hard drive went tango uniform. My wife had gotten a My Passport for her Macbook and was happy with it. So I got one. It is considerably less money and much smaller than the one it replaced. Additionally the previous one used a cable that popped off the computer at the slightest provocation, resulting in an annoying warning that the world was going to come to an end because I had unplugged the drive improperly. This one works much better. This is one of multiple ways I back up my Macbook Pro. This works with Time Machine.

honestly this is an amazing product ive been using it for about 4 months now. But one day my mac doesnt want to read it and when it will the icon will disappear. i can stiill feel the drive runnning and and the light turns on but it doesnt blink to signify that its working. my question is of this comes with warranty because i really need this and hope to replace: thankfully i didnt transfer super important items.

Has worked great so far for my boyfriend, his mac book, and the large amount of go pro videos he had stored on his computer that are now safely migrated over to the WD. Only small problem is that hed like to migrate some of his files on his old PC onto this hard drive and is having difficulty doing so (I can only assume because its not formatted for the PC). I have not had a chance to look into this to see if there are any ways to overcome this, however I wish I had purchased the normal version of the WD for him - I have the normal version of the WD from a few years ago and have used it on both my mac book and my PC with no issue.

Very nice product. I havent bought a HDD for many years and I am amazed by the small size and capacity. It was easy to use as a backup drive for my Macbook. I wanted to back up thumb drive files on it too but I havent determined that I am able to do that.

So far so good, does what it says and no issue, I just pray nothing happens and it crashes since i hear that can happen with these types of devices!

Works great with my iMac! I use it to be my second backup for my Mac and since it is 3TB I use it to store lots of files to keep my Mac from being so crowded.

Works perfectly. But before you buy a 2TB make sure its large enough for your storage needs. I have a 1TB that wont hold everything on my computer any longer and noticed Ive used most of the 2TB storage already. Im looking into something larger and will look for a WD again. (I do have my own cloud too, but like to have several back up so).

Easy to set up and have saved my files! Glad I got this Mac edition passport as I did not have to go through the hassel of altering the My Passport. It is worth paying a little more than the My Passport (non Mac edition) because I do not have to worry about a change in its code. The day after using this external hard drive, my computer was corrupted and it was not hard using My Passport to put everything back. I also purchased the add on case and am very happy with its small frame. Very satisfied customer, and would buy both products again!

The external drive is great for the modern era of Apple laptops. I have a 13 Macbook Pro with no Superdrive (as they dont come with them anymore). I had planned to buy an external Apple Superdrive for $78 but a friend recommended i get a drive that has Blu-Ray capabilities as well. This drive has everything you need. Ive read Blu-Ray disks but I have yet to write any disks. The software is easy to set up and this drive is just easy to use all around.

Its arrive a week ago, Its work great for now I have El Capitan the last version... and its work great for me. It so easy to use it and simple. Its a black matte its very beautiful but the fingerprint mark on the top. Well i think this is the new bestie of my macbook (pro) 2015. If something bad happen I will actualize the review.
