Thank you so much for the product. It was packaged professionally. The material is great and it was delivered on time. I was so happy with performance as it did what it promised. I got it for the PS5 and the set up took 30 seconds or less (if you call formatting a setup :) )

Purchased this drive to replace a SanDisk Extreme SSD for the PlayStation 5. Nothing was wrong with the original drive, but this one claimed to be faster. The first thing to accept about these drives is that the number advertised on the box is a perfect scenario. It is unlikely it will ever be your number and most of these drives are only aiming for 1050MB/s on normal configurations. This drive gets much warmer than the SanDisk, but can be expected when trading rubberized coating for an aluminum chassis. The SanDisk Extreme Pro makes the same 2000MB/s claim, but in a far less appealing package. I was unable to compare that model to this one, but I imagine they are much closer. This could be, in part, because Western Digital is the parent company of SanDisk. As for the regular line, there is enough of an improvement that I was content with having switched drives.

Bought this for my son to use as an external drive for video editing. He needed more storage connected to his iMac for his file cache in Adobe After Effects, so speed was critical. Per his comments he is both really satisfied with the performance, reliability, and that it runs cool. Overall, hes very happy with it and get better performance from his apps now that the file cache is off the system drive.

This portable ssd drive is designed for gamers. It has a sleek contemporary look and promises enhanced speed and generous storage. The caveat is that unless you have a USB 3.2 Gen 2 x interface , you will not enjoy the promised speed. I do not have it but the drive was fast, faster than other ssds in my possession.

Super compact compared to my old external hard drive that died a few months ago. Im using it with my Xbox one X. really easy to install plugged it in and turned the Xbox on and it popped up a prompt to use it for media or format for games. My last traditional mechanical external hard drive lasted 5 years (my son had the Xbox going almost 24/7) . Im hoping to get a long time out of this on also. My son will be rough on it so time will tell.

Installs and formats in a snap, but then you get a nasty surprise if you own a seriesX or I would imagine a PS5. This solid state drive will not play seriesX games on the drive only Xbox One games. So if you want to use it for last gen games its great but as for current gen it only archives and stores. I all you want is an external drive to play your last gen games on your SeriesX you would prolly want to get the conventional external Black Game drive. Its at least cheaper!

Unfortunately the gaming world has yet to properly come up with a way for an individual to actually add proper memory to their console without opening it up. Does the SSD game drive allow you to store info on it? Yes. Does it mean that your game was now put into the SSD? Yes. So you’re going to have to reinstall it onto your gaming console, which is significantly faster, like way faster - minutes as opposed hours, but you still have to reinstall. Also, it gets hot. Really hot so make sure it’s not on top of it too close to sides of PS5. Otherwise it overheats and will interrupt your game to tell you so you’re probably gonna get shot or miss that jump lol. For PS4 games it holds many and is an easier conversion but was really trying to allow the hubs to expand his newest COD game to be able to play campaigns which takes a bunch of memory. Although the SSD helps with what we needed, anytime we want to play a game we previously downloaded we have to reinstall quickly and in which case often removes other info on console to make space for new game. I am going to attempt second option where I will physically open console and add memory within the unit since gaming websites suggest anyone who is semi tech savvy to upgrade memory like that. PS Website has similar info but obviously doesn’t tell you to take apart your unit lol.

I use this for PS4 games on the PS5 even though its overkill for PS5.
