> 24 hourBought this as storage for xbox series. Cannot play enhanced games directly from it, but makes life easier with storage and moving files to internal hdd when needed. Great speed. Also, delivery of product exceeded expectation.

> 24 hourThis drive is quite small and rather nice looking. My Mac recognized this drive immediately. I found that I could sent a large file to this drive much more quickly than to my other external drives. I think drive would be a good investment for anyone requiring a quick hard drive for a good price.

> 24 hourNothing against Western Digital, the product itself looks very cool and is a good price for a 1tb ssd. This is a knock on microsoft for being lame with the series x os. It will not allow me to use this device for games because its not formatted for it They want you to spend $220 for the same amount of space on their licensed Seagate expansion card so shame on them. Hopefully in the future it will be resolved and be able to be used. Unfortunately as of now it seems it works for every system except the Xbox Series X and with these new games today, 1tb of space just doesnt cut it even with the faster down and upload times via the solid state drive so I will have to return this and either have to install what I want to play at that time or give in to them. Really hate it when companies that make as much money as Microsoft does pull crap like this. Really shows they cant just let you have anything, because it would obviously kill them to let me save $70 on some extra space after getting scalped on the console in the first place....

> 24 hourDose not work for the series X/S. Cannot format it even though it is claimed to work on the new consoles. Not only that but when received the package has a $40USD price tag from GameStop. $100 wasted.

> 24 hourThis external SSD made for Xbox is a great addition since games seem to be getting bigger and bigger everyday. You could also use it as a computer SSD, but if you do its not as fast as other SSDs I have. As far as using it for Xbox gaming, it works well and it very fast and has quick loading times on games. The design is nice and is basically plug-n-play with the Xbox console. Its a good way to increase your Xbox storage capacity.

> 24 hourI love Western Digital, to me they are the best brand for consumer hard drives. I have had from the old internal ATA days of the Green (entry-level), Blue (consumer), and Black (pro) series. There were also Red (NAS), Purple (surveillance), and Gold (business) that I did not buy. I think they are superior to Seagate, which I had more drives failing. Then I moved on the their SSDs, first with the SATAs, and now with their NVMes, and they have never disappointed me. Nowadays I use the portable 5TB WD-Black to store my Playstation games, and the 12TB bigger external drive for my computer/file syncs/backups. The latest Im honored to review is the WD_Black D50, and this D30. The D50 with its huge 3,000MB/s speeds are a bit of a price overkill, with the 1TB version being over $400. This 500GB D30 version comes in at a much more respectable $90, with the 1TB version going for $170. So this is a great option for those who want the SSDs speeds without the SSDs prices. But in the end, it just doesnt justify its price points enough, as you can get a much faster NVMe and external enclosure for about the same price, at a faster transfer speed. And that route is more versatile as you can always put the NVME in your computer when you dont want to use it externally anymore. I feel this will go mainstream when they can half the price, as I only paid $90 for my WD_Black 5TB external portable drive. While the speed is only up to 100MB/s, the savings in price makes it worth it. When the prices are halved, I think thats when they can replace the older HDD versions, and we can finally truly move on to external SSD drives. So to be blunt, I would save money to go up to the D50 version if you are resolved to buy a finished product. Otherwise, save money, and get better performing with the DIY route and cover up an NVMe drive with an external USB-C enclosure, or even Thunderbolt enclosure if you can afford it. Wait a year on this one.

> 24 hourProduct purposefully, misleading the SSD is more than capable of playing Xbox series S & X games but the manufacturer purposefully made it locked out of playing video games so you are forced to spend $400 for the same item from seagate Microsoft.

> 24 hourIve always been a western digital fan, for many years. They just seems to last the longest when it comes to drive. So was happy to pick this up as a back up. Out of the box, its a good looking drive. I love the stand that clicks on the bottom, make it look like a little server. Of course it comes with a USB cable. It is plug and play. 465G free space empty. Plugged it in to my PC and it showed up as Game Drive right away. I copied 5 zip files for just over 10G. It started out at 300 Mbs, but after a couple second it dropped to 111 Mbs and was steady at that speed till done. So this is not as fast as they claim. Sure not that fast for SSD. Not terrible slow, but not what youd expect from SSD. Usually drives slow down when you are coping many smaller files, so 5 large zip files should have gone so much faster. Its good looking, works as it should, just not that fast for todays standards. Will try it next on the Xbox, hopefully I can post better news.
