> 3 dayMy son has PKU and we must account for absolutely everything that he eats. We have prepared several foods for him that we make in batches. For example, I roasted some butternut squash and then pureed the roasted squash. I was able to properly portion out 1 ounce in each cup and freeze it. Once they were frozen, they were easy to pop out and place into a freezer Ziplock bag. When I wish to feed him butternut squash, I take one 1-ounce block and heat it up for 1 minute in the microwave for a perfectly proportioned unit of food. Because each frozen block is 1 ounce, it is easy to measure. Even as he grows and eats larger portions, it will be easier to measure than larger blocks.

Greater than one weekUPDATE! So company contacted me after my initial review. They explained that silicone test is not gonna work with this type of product and that their silicone is 100% food grade and FDA approved. I think it would be a good idea for company to add this details to their instructions to avoid any misunderstandings. Company explained that silcone can take on the smells of the things it came in close proximity too. I ordered 2 silicone trays out of which one had the smell that didnt want to come off. In that case I think company should work on better packaging for their product so this doesnt happen again. Other than that their customer service surprised me very much which is a great thing. I ordered their glass jars for baby food and theyre amazing so I would give them a shot in the future. My old review : I read all the reviews before I bought it and wanted to see for myself so I gave it a chance and its such a disappointment. First of all I did silicone test ( you have to pinch the material and if it turns whitish color its not a pure silicone and it has plastic additives which are not healthy for babies!). Second - smell is so strong and chemical! I washed it 3 times in dishwasher and by hand and as I understand that some silicones can take up smell of things they were close to this is unacceptable! I would never use it for myself and especially not for the baby.

> 3 dayIt has been more than a year since I bought 2 of these trays, and then 2 more. I wanted to make all of my first child’s baby food and after a lot of searching I found these. They’re amazing. I successfully made all of my first, and now second, babies’ food pretty easily. Yes, the trick to getting the frozen “cubes” out is to let them sit on the counter for 10-15 min (or less if it is really hot). Then they just pop out. I store many different puréed whole foods and microwave them as needed. These are truly the best homemade baby food helpers!! ** Get the pouches too! This is how I was able to 100% make all of my babies’ food - even when we were out, I would squirt the food into their mouth, no spoon needed. The trick for these is to NOT overfill. They’ll pop open at the bottle if you have thick food and squeeze hard, especially when the food is cold and therefore harder. Easy to clean with or without a dishwasher (have one now but didn’t for Baby #1) Both of these products have lasted through 2 exclusively-homemade fed babies.

> 3 daySo far I am happy with the purchase. I have frozen breastmilk in it and I made yams for the first time the other night. For the breastmilk I made sure to measure the width of my bottles however I didnt think about how much room in general the cube would take up in the bottle. That being said you cant fit more than 2 oz in a 4 oz bottle and 3 oz in a 6 oz bottle at a time to defrost. But thats ok. Im really looking forward to making different foods for my little guy now that we are starting to enter the wonderful world of solids! Each cube filled to the top looks like it fits approximately 1.5 oz. There is a fill line of 1oz in each cube to let you know exactly where to fill to if you want to keep it 1 oz. The cool thing is you can pop out only one cube at a time as needed. What I noticed so far, is that the two cubes in the center are not as well sealed as the cubes on the side so there is a bit of freezer burn possibility there. I would not leave food in this for days and remove one at a time as needed because of that reason. I would dump all of the cubes in a ziplock freezer bag and pick them out from there as needed. Actually getting the cubes out was pretty straight forward. It was easier to run some warm water on the bottoms then they slip out. I think that if you were to purchase the WeeSprout reusable squeeze packs this purchase would be awesome. I plan I purchasing them once our little man gets to that point.

> 3 dayThese things are great! I freeze all different purees, then I can pull them out and use individually or mix different ones together. The size of the cubes is great. I can put 3 of the frozen cubes into a reusable squeeze pouch, let them thaw and shake to mix! I wish I had bought 2 or 3 of these. I would puree a bunch of stuff on one afternoon, then have nowhere to store it! So if you plan to puree in large batches, buy a few of these!
