It was time to upgrade my ancient Dell 690 workstation to a faster and long-lasting SSD. It did improve boot time and access time by a factor of 3. I intentionally bought the WD red version that is durable enough to be used in a server, and I am considering of having a SSD based external backup drive. If not already installed, be sure to buy adapter kits to mount in HHD cages, or in my case to mount to slide-in cassettes used in the Dell 690.

Bought this to add storage to an M1 Mac Mini. So far its reliable and performing well. Files are always accessible right away with no lag or delay. Only had it a few months, so Ill see how it goes and update the review if things change.

Pedí esta memoría luego de darme cuenta que mi laptop tenía una ranura para SSD. El hecho es que según soporte solo podía ponerle 256, según un amigo que también es soporte de otro lado, podía aguantar más. La recomendación es ver si tienen si la maquina tiene el tornillo para esta tarjeta, es uno pequeño, en el caso de ASUS, no lo incluye (craso error), tampoco viene incluido en el disco, recomendaría que si alguien va a comprar esta ssd, también pida los tornillos de ser posible. Volviendo al tema, la conecte y en el administrador de dispositivos aparecía, pero no la unidad, probablemente para los que somos empiricos (y no técnicos) de computadores, se nos haga un mundo el pensar que no funciona con tu pc. Lo que se hace es inicializar el disco en el panel de control, en caso de que quieras instalar windows ahí GPT. Luego de eso, sabrás que la corta espera y pedir este disco ssd es la mejor inversión que habrás hecho en buen tiempo. Para ser mi primera compra, me ha ido genial.

Popped this into my NVR for use with my home security camera system. Works great and a noticeable speed upgrade from the HDD i was running previously. Will probably pick up a few more and RAID them! Only downside is it doesnt come with mounting screws, but this isnt a huge deal.

I bought this to replace a Samsung 840 Pro as a cache drive in my FreeNAS build. So far everything is running as smooth as it did before. The temperature of the drive is a little warmer than the old drive. At idle, the old drive sat around 1°C over ambient, this one sits around 5°C over ambient.

Was very easy to install and clone my old drive. Have had for about 1 month and no problems.

Amazon and Western Digital will only warranty for 30 days. I received 5 units and 2 of them didnt work and they wont replace because it was 35 days before we tried to use them. The package was melted.
